Memorials to a nation's detractors, those who fought against it, are rare in any culture and time. Why would America be so different? Preserving the history, teaching that a group tried to destroy the U.S., is history. Glorifying those individuals with statues is anti-history, a gross distortion of fact and the sense of 'glory'.

The confederate states did not try to destroy the United States. Precisely the opposite is the case.

You can thank the oligarchs, religious zealots, and racist white supremicists for that scenario my friend.

These are groups of people that seem to think they have some divine right to rule others. We have already seen this same scenario play out all over the world throughout history.

I for one have no desire, or will make any attempt to debate these people. They must be resisted, and defeated. Not bargained with. And since history, evolution, and current demographic change is occurring against the groups I mentioned above, the resistance is going to win. That's the problem they have. Human beings have a shelf life, and as those shelf lives expire, their ideologies expire with them, and whole new ways of thinking replace them.

Now healthy debate by normal people on the way we can form a more perfect union, as the founders intended, and Lincoln waged war to preserve, to create a system of one standard that applies to all even handedly, I'm all in.
