The Supreme Court has repeatedly held that the First Amendment requires public school officials to be neutral in their treatment of religion, showing neither favoritism toward nor hostility against religious expression such as prayer. [ 2 ] Accordingly, the First Amendment forbids religious activity that is sponsored by the government but protects religious activity that is initiated by private individuals...

i bet the OP starter has no problem if there is a loud volleyball game going on because that is not religious
bigot
I actually wouldn't like it but find it far less offensive than some xtian nut screaming I am going to hell for not believing in jeebus.
What an arrogant ass to think that your pleasure trumps other peoples rights to the free exercise of religion. If you don't want to hear some nut rant, walk the other way. The rest of us are not here to ensure your tender ears don't hear something you don't like.
You do not have the free exercise of religion on public tax-supported lands. You are regulated for access just like everyone else. Being religious is not an exception, nor is the Great Witness.
How do you come to that conclusion? Is there an exception clause in the bill of rights?

I'm wondering if the Congressional Chaplain has been made aware of this rule

i wouldn't appreciate anyone screaming i'm going to hell
the pastor in question, however, was not screaming. thus, you once again exhibit dishonesty regarding your thread.

Yurt is saying that a preacher has the right to and can get up anywhere and preach to folks on public property?

I am not contradicting anything. I HATE RELIGION...now I am of the mind set that he has a church use it. People willingly come there to listen to him preach there is no reason to go to a public beach and preach other than to annoy and harass people. I am an Anarchist when it comes to having no government.Oh indeed I have...but most people are to comfy in their socialist government they have now to consider a governmentless life.Doesn't sound like you've given anarchism much thought then.
See, that's what I find so funny about your OP.
Because it's in fact the big-government socialists that would have a problem with a preacher having a sermon in public. Not an "anarchist" such as yourself.
Simply put, your arguments contradict your ideology.

How on Earth does praying on a beach constitute the state endorsing a religion?
You fuckers are completely nuts. Seriously, you are some fucked up assholes.
He wants to pray...he can pray. If he wants to be loud and bother people who are trying to enjoy a day at the beach, then he becomes a public nuisance.

Link for that, and the reactionary agrees that there is a limitation on what a pastor can do.
Thanks for that.![]()

Perhaps you are unfamiliar with the concept of free speech?
He was having service...have you ever been to a xtian church? I have and yes they scream, yell, stop their feet,"talk in tongues" etc.
No one is stopping asswipes from speaking. But please, go speak over there where I can't hear your nonsense.

How do you come to that conclusion? Is there an exception clause in the bill of rights?
Jake's brain is an exception clause.
Does he always make unsupported claims like this? Jake?
