so there are 3 choices we have here.

One is to say the Protestants are correct.
Another is to say the Catholics are correct
Another is to say neither is correct

There aren't many other options.
The Catholic Church boldly teaches there is no salvation outside the Catholic Church. The Protestants, however, even though they believe that no Catholic is saved (many believe that anyway), they will not come out and say it clearly that they do indeed believe this.

Well.. one can draw his / her own inferences from this.

Since Vatican II, the Catholic Church has taught that for those who have not been introduced to the Church, three things are essential to be saved...
  • Belief in God,
  • Belief in the Afterlife,
  • Belief that a virtuous life is rewarded in the afterlife and an evil life is punished.
As for other Christians, it does not presume to say that you are "fucked" if not Catholic. It just maintains that the Church has countless advantages over other Christian religions. The others lack the Sacraments and all that goes with them.

Catholics emphatically deny that any living person is "saved." Indeed, Christ's position on the matter is hinted at in the parable of the workers in the vineyard. Nothing is finalized until death.

Only God the Father and Jesus Christ know who will be saved. Denominational church affiliation is meaningless.

Well, u can and probably will argue with me to the bitter end on this (hope not) but Vatican II taught and the Vatican continues to teach
HERESY.

So Catholics must choose btwn what the old Church taught for 19 hundred and sixty years, and what the Vatican now teaches.

When you study these matters, it becomes a no-brainer
