Renewables have won the race against coal

I live in a state with a very liberal/progressive Democrat Governor that is also a big fracking state. It is very highly regulated and monitored. They also pay huge taxes, and extraction and impact fees. The state makes a lot of money, and there have been no negative environmental issues. It has provided thousands of good paying jobs, and helped to keep domestic energy prices low. Many small towns that were depressed are now booming. It is a huge win/win.

Joe certainly is a touchy-feely kind guy. Too many pictures of him doing just what was described for him to deny it.

Lots of opinion, very little facts.
Then name one and argue against it.

Since we have 150 years of cheap oil and gas and 400 years of cheap coal reserves all you planet huggers just deal with reality, fossil fuels are here to stay.

And we are finding more huge oil and gas fields all the time right here in the U.S.

The left don't hate fossil fuels. The left hates that they don't get to spend the PROFITS from fossil fuels like some other countries do. Maxine Waters in a congressional hearing with oil company executives threatened to socialize all their companies and have government take over and run them. Its the fossil fuel PROFITS these left wing assholes are after. This 'green' planet hugging crap is just a smoke screen.

Temporary. I live near dozens of dried up oil towns down in E Texas and NW Louisiana.
Go to Monroe or Oil City sometime and taste the tap water.

You're a delusional neocon.

No gas company has ever been shown to have poisoned an aquifer. What law prevents landowners from suing?
It's not in the news because they're paying out settlements and passing out NDA's to sign.

Natural gas was in the water before anyone did any fracking.

The bottom line is that no one has ever shown that fracking contaminates aquifers.

they aint won dick

Gas Remains Far, Far Ahead
To be sure, gas has a tremendous lead. The U.S. added 23 gigawatts of new gas-fired power plants capacity last year -- the highest in at least a decade, Sekine said. Compare that to 4 gigawatts of new energy storage projects installed worldwide.
And while prices for solar-storage projects vary across the U.S., the cost of building and operating gas plants is affordable nationwide as improved drilling techniques have radically reduced fuel costs, Browning said.
“Solar and storage makes sense,” said Steve McKenery, vice president of storage solutions at project developer 8minutenergy Renewables LLC. But they aren’t ready to take over the power sector: “We don’t advocate getting rid of gas today,” he said.

AKA getting the taxpayer to foot the bill.
To some extent, sure. And to another extent, these measures will be successful precisely because they are more economically viable, saving the average person money. By the same logic, we subsidize natural gas exploration. Are you going to complain about that, now? Or do you have some sort of ideology to present that holds natural gas as preferable to less impactful sources of energy?
We don't subsidize natural gas exploration, dumbass.
When lawmakers tear up regulations and write laws which prevent landowners from suing gas companies for poisoning the aquifers, that is a form of subsidy. Dumbass ( to use your kind of language)

Fracking Has Contaminated Drinking Water, EPA Now Concludes

I try really hard to make true statements. You’re kind calls me a liar anyway. That’s because Republicans have no shame.
"Inside Climate News?" Now there's an unbiased site.

Under Obama, the EPA determined that fracking did not contaminate aquifers, but now it changes its mind, and we are supposed to believe it?

What does a blowout have to do with fracking? Fracking is used where there is no natural pressure in the formation. It can't blow out. Furthermore gas blowouts have been occurring since they started drilling for gas and oil.

We don't subsidize natural gas exploration,

Of course, that's false and idiotic, as the DOE continues to pour money into research on shale gas exploration and extraction, with the results being given out for free to those companies.

You know, precisely the same subsidy you lose your little mind over, when anyone suggests it for renewables.
ROFL! It does? I suppose you can document this research. Fracking came about totally as a result of private R&D. In fact, the energy industry has been doing fracking for at least 80 years. It's only when they combined fracking with directional drilling that it led to the spectacular increases in production that we see today.

If the government simply engaged in research on renewables, I wouldn't have nearly as strong an objection, but the government is subsidizing the construction of solar and wind power plants, and it gives huge subsidies for electric cars and solar power on buildings.

Are you INSANE?

If renewable power multiplied 10 fold in the next year, it still wouldn't touch coal.

You people.... you claim to be so scientific, so forward looking, so into technology, and then you spout off the world is going to end in 12 years, planes will be replaced by fart-less cows, and renewable power has over taken coal?????

You people are the absolute dumbest, most ignorant, myth believing flat-earthers on the planet. Good night, how stupid you people must be. No wonder the the green energy companies love you people, who make the super wealthy get tons of corporate welfare from your tax money.

Same old talking points.
