Jun 12, 2012 - According to a recent poll, support for President Obama from African American voters is decreasing following his support of same-sex marriage

Like I said, ALL NONSENSE

Old people vote on the same issues as young people?
City dwellers vote on the same issues as farmers?
Rich people vote on the same issues as poor people?

That is nonsense?

Yes, pandering is nonsense. We don't need a government that is deep into our lives or pockets. And that is all that happens when you pander to 8ndividual groups

Pandering is life when it comes to politics

There is no one size fits all. Want a public transportation bill? It does not help farmers
Want a college tuition assistance bill? It does not help seniors
Want to cut back on capital gains taxes? Doesn't help the poor

People vote with their pockets. Which candidate is going to make my life better? In terms of blacks and minorities, Republicans are unable to make that sale

Dems are still voting FOR Bush and Republican policies you self-deceiving dolt

the filibuster is irrelevant when you're voting to CONTINUE Bsh policies. nobody made your jackazz party vote that way

and those black voters wont vote R because your party hates them and they know it

Pandering nonsense. Republicans should reach out to all Americans REGARDLESS of skin color.

This should be true, except the GOP has been pushing blacks away as hard as they can. And gays, and Muslims, and Hispanics. And, quite frequently, women.

dear brain dead idiot,

Your party voted against its own written the sponsored bills when Obama said he would sign them

The GOP must try to win over African Americans - The Week

Rand Paul and other Republicans have made awkward attempts at appealing to African Americans — so awkward it sometimes seems their intended audience is not the people sitting in front of them. Speeches by white Republicans at historically black schools and in Detroit have had the whiff of slightly smarmy non sequiturs. "Dontcha know? Republicans were abolitionists 150 years ago."

There are some obvious alterations the GOP and the conservative movement must make to attract black voters. Any project that looks like anti-black voter suppression should be first on the list to go. The Randian rhetoric of "takers" must go too. It not only alienates parts of the existing GOP base, but is pungent with contempt for those, like African Americans, who view themselves as unfairly held outside and below the the sphere of social concern. Perhaps most difficult of all, conservatives need to bring their well-paid yappers to heel, lest they find another case like Trayvon Martin's death, and use it to enflame a totally spurious debate about "the real racists." Such arguments make conservatives look like self-involved idiots and aggrieved monsters.

democrats would be well advised to drop the race card. democrats have set race relations back decades with their race baiting and pandering for votes.

If ever the day comes and the black vote isn't automatic democrat liberals are gonna shit themselves.

Problem for Republicans is they can no longer give away the black and minority vote and expect to win

There is no reason they shouldn't be trying to contest the vote with those demographics

As usual you have it ass backwards. The democrats couldn't win an election for dog catcher without pandering to the black vote.

It is more than that. It is all minorities including hispanics and asians, young voters, urban voters, labor, younger women

The Republican tent is limiting itself to white christian older males which will push the party to irrelevancy

That race is voting 95% Democrat. What are Republicans going to do about it?

Republicans have not had the African American vote since the 60s and managed to win elections. There is no way republicans can out promise democrats. They would have to grant magical powers to do it.

You libs have been saying that for over 2 decades. The only thing irrelevant is your opinions on the matter.

Fine by me Republicans. Even your own studies indicate that future demographics are working against you

But I have a nice pile of sand you can stick your head in

people who have brought record welfare and food stamps to America on their watch should avoid calling other people idiots

And the GOP had nothing to do with that? Doesn't the GOP control the House?
The GOP has controlled the House; in it's 4th year now; the Dem has controlled the Senate for going on 8 straight years; Dems have either had both chambers of Congress AND the White House; both chambers of Congress; or 2 of the 3 for the last over 7 years in a row
keep the excuses coming though; for left-wing FAILURE
:cuckoo:

Thanks for that....whatever your point was.

So the GOP is responsible, at least in part--having controlled 1/3 of the government. Both parties are out to lunch fiscally. Only an idiot like yourself would try to state otherwise and when the GOP last controlled the White House, the deficit expanded. True story-yo.

Anyway the point is that when you lose the women's vote, you don't get it back by passing vindictive hateful laws that affect women.

The point is that when you lose the black vote, you don't get it back by wanting to get rid of AA and paying lipservice (if that) to issues affecting the black community

The point is that when you've almost lost the Hispanic vote, you don't get it back by not only coming out a hike in the minimum wage, but by questioning whether or not there should be a minimum wage

The point is that when you've totally lost the LGBT vote, you don't celebrate and say, "Good".

At some point you run out of groups to alienate.

Grumps said that "if the Dems ever lost the black vote..."it may be a better question to ponder, "What if the R next to our name doesn't guarantee 35-40% of the vote any longer?"

Actually, we have young people moving towards us. The Hispanics are starting to slip through your fingers. Blacks in Chicago are starting to turn on the president. Even they aren't so dumb as to be fooled twice.

Why does the radical left continue to judge people on the basis of the color of their skin? What does the democrat party have to be proud of? Slavery? Segregation? LBJ's "Great Society"? Under the Hussein regime unemployment among Black males skyrocketed to around 16 or 17% and the use of food stamps doubled.

Republican outreach to African Americans

So what's a white guy from Africa who has his American citizenship called?
