Single payer system within 7 years

If we didn't have immigration from the village people and gang murders we'd be doing well too. Look back in about five years after the muzz really kick in. See if those stats are the same.

The Muzz? Do you do special exercises to stay that bigoted?

No, even if you factor in our horrendous homicide rates (high because let any asshole buy a gun), we STILL have horrible stats in terms of life expectency because not everyone can see a doctor when they need to.

Something you have absolutely no proof of.

We have a huge drug problem in this country, and are now in epidemic proportions of overdose deaths. We have more deadly car accidents than most countries and are at the top of the list in that category. Many of our murders are younger people which really lowers the average life expectancy.

When do the most people get life threatening illnesses in the US? When they are on our government programs such as Medicare.

There is no evidence that our lower life expectancy is because of not seeing doctors.

Cigna HealthCare refused to pay for treatment by citing policy provisions which do not cover services considered experimental, investigational and/or unproven to be safe and/or effective for the patient.[4] Cigna noted that it had no financial stake in the decision because it only administered the insurance plan and would not bear the cost of any operation.

Cigna's position was repulsive. So bad even the their PR Guy quit and became an advocate for health care reform.

So of course, you stick up for them.

Not sticking up for anybody, just telling you what took place and why. You immediately blame the insurance companies without knowing their side of the story.

People will die from a single-payer system, and everyone that disagrees with the federal government and their nanny state mentality and will lose 100% of their freedom… Fact
There's no need for individuality in a nanny state/socialist system… Exactly what the federal government wants

Hey, Stupid...

The other industrialized nations that have single payer have longer life expectancy, lower infant mortality rates and they spend half of what we spend.

The problem is that you are sooo fucking stupid from Koch Brother Brainwashing is that you think "Freedom" is the ability for the rich to abuse the rest of us.
The collective sucks ass, socialism is not needed over here in America. Too bad we are losing our freedoms and individuality…

Medicare is a single payer system,
Not really since Medicare Advantage (aka "Medigap") is covered by private insurance plans.

If it is good enough for people over 65, it should be good for all,
Sure why not, Medicare is only $27 TRILLION underwater in long term liabilities, might as well go ahead and make it $200 TRILLION, what the hell, the coming generations aren't going to be able to pay it anyways.

Pay more taxes and it is covered.
You first, I already pay way more taxes than I should and have absolutely no interest in participating in yet another government run health care scheme that accomplishes nothing more than to accelerate the deterioration of our already dire financial situation and adding to the degree of looting that the federal government is already perpetrating against me.

Stop believing that you will get instant and immediate attention and never have to wait for anything. In other words, get real. You have to pay for your health one way or another, by higher taxes or otherwise.
You're the one that is asking for "instant and immediate attention and never have to wait for anything" by advocating for government run single payer, it's the easy answer "let the government do it for me" , right?

I have no problem paying a private company for my health insurance, I just don't want to pay for everybody Else's too, capisce?

You pay more taxes than you should? Why? Are yu you stupid?

Single payer is the final nail in the coffin for this country…

Actually, per capita, we are in the middle of the pack on auto fatalities. France and Italy actually have more car accidents per capita.

While our murder rate is horrific, it only represents 16,000 of the 3 million Americans who die every year.

Now, the fact that 25% of AMericans don't have easy access to health care, yeah, that's a problem.

We know their side of the story, thanks to Wendall Potts, the VP for Public Relations who became so disgusted by Hanaway's behavior in the Sarkisyan case that he quit and became an advocate for Health Care reform.

On Fox News, Charles Krauthammer predicts America will have single-payer health care within 7 years

It's long been obvious that health care costs too much for most people to afford paying for it as they might a home repair -- outright or on credit. That means that health insurance is not going away, but to anyone who understands economics, it's not hard to see that health insurance is better provided as natural monopoly goods.

[Either click on the pic or click on the "natural monopoly" link if you don't understand the economics of natural monopoly.]

Single-payer, economically speaking, is natural monopoly applied to health insurance. There are a variety of "basic" structural models that can be considered, though I haven't crunched the numbers to discern for myself which of them is most economically efficient.
  • Postal delivery model --> A baseline of coverage is offered by a self-supporting government insurer and private concerns can compete with it as they see fit -- offering fully competing insurance and/or offering supplemental insurance -- and feel able to differentiate their product delivery to customers.
    • Variations:
      • Baseline insurance provided by state government
      • Baseline insurance provided by local (county) government
      • Baseline insurance provided by federal government
  • Water model --> Single, regional private sector insurers who have a monopoly on health insurance provision in their region.
    • Variation: government rather than private entity provides the insurance.
  • Electricity model --> Single, regional insurers have a monopoly on certain aspects of coverage, with competition for other types of coverage.
    • Variations: the insurers can be either private sector or governments. Obviously, there are too many combinations for how this approach might be structured for me to list.

Good PR move, but it doesn't negate that Cigna didn't do anything wrong. I'm sure they had the same policies before this girls father took the job and went on their plan.

If it's such a problem, why does our life expectancy go up every year?

Yes, they had a fucked up policy of cheating people after taking their money.

The problem is, you are such a tool you think the rich are doing you a favor when you lose money investing or your boss cheats you out of health insurance and you blame the black guy.

Battered Housewife Conservatism, everyone. Battered Housewife Conservatism.

Once single-payer is here, we'll all get to see how the VA system works, where appointments are made five months in advance and you're left waiting in a long line.
