The guy Nazareth was a total fraud, get over it already...

Why was Jesus sleeping on the boat in the storm?

because Matthew was familiar with the book of Jonah
Or because it really happened because Jesus is the Word.

because what really happened?
That there really was a storm in the Sea of Galilee with Jesus asleep and the Apostle's fearing for their lives just as the account is told.

there are frequent storms on the sea of
Galilee----sudden starts and stops.
Yes. Exactly. Do you know why?

Want to take a stab at the other parables?

I like parables-----the Midrash is CHOCK full of them
The entire account of the OT is a real life parable just as the Crucifixion of Jesus is a real life parable just like the real life of Peter is a parable. Parables abound.

nope-----while it is probably true that the book of Jonah is a parable------
The WHOLE OT is, certainly, not.
The NT contains lots of parables----proportionately, probably more than the OT.
The account of the Jews is a real life parable of a people who cycle between remembering God and forgetting God and what happens to them when they do.

we have fads in the USA too. ------think of the ups and downs of the "REFORMATION"----would you describe European history as a big fat parable?

Since you don't believe in God, I'm not surprised that you dismiss this self evident truth.

The Crucifixion of Jesus is a real life parable of dying to self.

The doubt and later belief of Peter is a real life parable about faith in God.

tornadoes in Kansas

Topography mainly. The sea is almost 700 ft below sea level and is bounded by hills especially on the east side where they reach 2000 ft above the sea. Violent storms can and do roll in suddenly

So the description in the NT is accurate.

Like I have said many times, our biggest problem are rationalizations. They prevent us from seeing objective truth. God is objective truth. If anyone wants to be busy being born rather than be busy dying, he should strive to see objective truth.

If you want to see objective truth, you must die to self.

no question----Matthew knew the "SEA OF GALILEE" -----do you know what the actual name of that sea is?------why beat around the bush----the name is KINERET----
which is the feminine form of KINOR. Kinor is a stringed instrument---usually translated as HARP. The sea is named for a HARP because the winds over the waves create harp like sounds. Its a moist-----HUMID ----windy place

Right. which makes the assertion that seasoned fishermen were afraid of the weather and needed the help of a sleeping carpenter because they didn't know what to do that much more ridiculous.

oh ---that's why Pontius Pilate crucified an
estimated 10, 000 Pharisee jews during the time he was prefect of Judea?

My point still stands. There was no grand conspiracy by the Roman Empire two hundred years later.

You misspelled real life parable.

But Jesus Christ couldn't protect himself from his abusers with his divine supernatural powers.

Right?

That makes no sense.

The only rational explanation is that the miracles were not demonstrations of divinity or supernatural power over reality.

As I have shown, the smallest measure of intelligent thought applied to these miracles uncovers a hidden story.

A little yeast makes the whole loaf rise....
So not only is your god the hide and seek king, but now the bible is nothing but a bunch of hide and seek stories. Were you not allowed outside to play such games with the other children of your neighbourhood when you were a young Jew?
They were just humans.

Key question: If the story of Jesus were fictional why would they fabricate their failings over and over throughout the NT?

They wouldn't. Thus it adds to the validity that the stories are true.
To fool imbeciles like hob... and you.
No record of Pontius Pilot existed in Roman records. Then archeologists found a stone with his name in it.

Time and time again we learn the accuracy of the Bible.
Sure, small stuff like people and places, but not the big things, the flood, 6 day creation, all of Jesus' miracles, resurrection, the parting of the Red Sea... none of the big things can be proven. Not one.

So to find god I need to read fairy tales.

what prevails, the origin of the written falsified documents is the spoken religion dating to Antiquity and earlier to the beginning as evolution and its physical manifestation over time being the same.

the spoken parable of Noah, the religion of the Almighty - The Triumph of Good vs Evil is non interpretive and irrefutable for admission to the Everlasting. good luck.
Speak English please.

SHEEEESH its just a parable
Every parable is about something. Jesus sleeping on a boat with frightened fishermen who woke him up, a carpenter, because they didn't know what to do about a threatening storm isn't it.

Just like when elijiah called down fire from the sky which killed every detachment of 50 soldiers sent to kill him wasn't about fire, Jesus calming the storm wasn't about him controlling the weather.
