Um isn’t the premise of the case that he did all these things as part of his campaign so using his personal money was a violation of the Fed Election laws and the false business recoding was an attempt to cover it up? prove it wasn’t a violation of the Fed election code or dont prove that Trump did these things as part of his campaign and youre left with a bunch of misdemeanors whose statute of limitations have run out.

After looking at the indictment, I think it's just another no-win situation.

We (America) need to go after lawbreakers, especially those who think they're above the law. At the same time, though, this is a weak first indictment to bring. If there were already two or three others floating around, it would have been fine.

In this particular fucking ugly context, cases have to be very big and very clear. Like seditious conspiracy (the Insurrection) or blatant election tampering (the Georgia phone calls). Then the rest can come later. This one is too easy to call political or personal.

Bragg may end up looking like he was reaching. I say "may", since my crystal ball is in for repairs. As usual.
