Did you see his picture, sadly he was morbidly obese, obesity is one of the more prevalent co-morbidities of covid, along with several others. Very few people have died FROM covid without 1 or more of those co-morbidities. Who knows what other health issues he had, or did you contact his widow to find out?

Get vaccinated. We need to cut this thing down before a truly bad variant comes out. Delta is not it. It is not nearly as bad as bad as the original, but it can become worse as it will, inevitably morph itself.
As i have stated here a number of times my son is a Respiratory Specialist, and my daughter is a Respiratory Therapist. Both at major hospitals.
At the hospital my daughter works at, there are 44 Covid patients. 6 are in ICU. 2 are likely to die.
Wanna know the demographics?
All but two are minorities.
Only one is vaccinated.

Let that sink in. It is the same all over. Right now Covid is a sickness, primarily for the unvaccinated. Yes you can spout off some anecdotal situations that show some vaccinated people getting sick and even dying. But folks, the numbers are simply what the numbers are. And the numbers are the sick enough to be hospitalized - are overwhelmingly unvaccinated.

Getting vaccinated is not "giving in". It doesn't make you less conservative. It is not a "win" for the other side.
It is Goddamn common sense in order to stop a very possible bad ass variant from developing that will screw us over worse than 2020.

We are going to see some countries in Europe hit very high compliance (Ireland are aiming at possibly 95% of over 12 year olds at the moment... I thought we should have gone to one of those countries first to show that a vaccine and a few sensible restrictions could fight this virus...

Young People Make Up Biggest Group of Newly Hospitalized COVID-19 Patients​

• More and more young people are being hospitalized for COVID-19 as the Delta variant surges through the U.S.
• Experts say that initially a person’s age and underlying conditions were the biggest factors for if a person would need to be hospitalized, but now it’s vaccine status.
• Currently, people ages 18 to 49 make up the largest demographic of hospitalized people due to COVID-19, according to the CDC.

COVID-19 variants are now surging across the United States — especially the highly transmissible Delta variant, which accounts for the vast majority of cases.
Vaccinations for COVID-19 have also decreased with an average of around 750,000 vaccinations daily this week compared to over 3.9 million at the peak of vaccination. About 69 percent of U.S. adults currently have at least one vaccine dose. Demographically, people over age 65 have a much higher vaccination rate, with over 89 percent having at least one dose.
During the start of the pandemic, before there was a vaccine, those most likely to be hospitalized for COVID-19 were older adults.
Now that the Delta variant is spreading widely in the United States, physicians are seeing a worrying trend of younger people ending up in the ICU.
