Trump isn't totally evil..or even really evil at all..and some of his actions, most noticeably restraining the Bannon faction from getting us into a shooting war, is one of those good things.

Pardons..even blanket pardons..are always retroactive..one cannot be pardoned for a future act. Yes...one can word a pardon to cover any and all acts committed before this date without enumerating details. Of course..the chief executive of New York is Gov. Pardons have been addressed by the USSC very few times, but in those cases they decided that a pardon can't be forced upon somebody. It's a "get out of jail free" card the person has to play. And he has to give it to the court in order to stem the charges or prosecution.

The idea of someone with pardon power being able to pardon himself, leaves him above the law, if any law he violates can be pardoned.
