Trump Implies George Bush responsible for 9/11

Pearl Harbor came on FDR's watch.
No one refutes that fact. It has always been a black mark on FDR's record. He was ultimately responsible for the failures of the military and intelligence, particularly Navel intelligence. They were under his command and so as CiC, his responsibility. Bush was in the same position as CiC. While ultimately arguments can be made to minimize the "blame", traditionally the commanders in charge are always held responsible for what goes on under their command. They are held responsible for the actions or non actions of their subordinates and command structures. It is they that name and supervise that command structure.

Hey, he finally got one right.

“When you talk about George Bush, I mean, say what you want, the World Trade Center came down during his time,” Mr. Trump said.

No single President or administration was responsible so much as decades of them and foreign policy. Islamic terrorists aren't attacking French Polynesia or some other country that gets along with everybody, they're attacking those who attack them, support their nations' political oppressors, and those who side against them with their enemies.

9/11 was the result of generations of screwing with the middle east and attacks like it again in the future are extremely likely since nothing's changed.

Let me make it simple for you Camp. Facts cannot be refuted. Going into a long-winded pedantic essay is pointless.

The post is not pedantic or an essay and not everyone recognizes the same "facts". Part of the Bush administration legacy is Bush and his administration refusing to take responsibility for their actions. Anytime that can be publicized and brought into focus is a good thing for society and the nation in general.

Trump's obviously the most serious candidate running for president right now. Everyone else looks like amateurs.

Of ALL the adjectives that could be used describing Trump. "serious' is a tremendous stretch.
I understand where people are coming from when they say this, but it hasn't escaped me how many other campaigns have framed their attacks around 'seriousness'. Can you be taken seriously without double-digit polling? The majority of candidates on either side have no chance at the whitehouse, but they're serious?

No, Bush, like FDR, took responsibility and responded in no uncertain terms.

And yes, your post was pointless and pedantic.

Before right wingers attack this thread and (as the moron deltex has) take it into another direction......Lets agree that there was little to no criticism of GWB over 9-11........the criticisms began with his decision to lie to us into a war ON Iraq.
Just as Obabble lied us out of a victory in Iraq.

yo gnat...blaming bush for what happened on his watch, and Obabble for what happened on his IS the same direction. GFY.

Ask the nut about Obungles and Syria......or Libya....or Egypt....or for that matter anywhere in the ME. Obama's foreign policy is a freaking disaster

During the debate Jeb defended GW saying he kept America safe . 9/11 came to mind when he said that.

Truth is the worst attack did happen on his watch .

If 9/11 was all Bush's fault, why did the Clintons send in their NSA Secretary into the National Archives to steal and destroy documents in response to the 9-11 Commission? Why did the Clintons use the 9-11 Commission to hide their Deputy Attorney General Jamie Gorelick from testifying?

If it was all Bush's fault, should have been a slam dunk for the Clintons to let Bush hang during the Investigation. Their actions say otherwise and you Liberal water carriers have no logical refute.

more speculation ehh NYCarb . Thing is that TRUMP made a true and factual statement .

FDR died in office shortly before the two front world war ended after less than four years of warfare. Bush left both his war fronts without finishing them after over seven years. Left his mess for someone else to deal with. If he had finished his tasks this topic would not be being discussed.

ha, time was when you couldn't rile up a RWnut easier than to imply Bush fucked up letting 9/11 happen;

now it's that same sort of RWnut hanging on Trump's every word.
