Here's where Americans are stupid. The insurance companies keep 20% of your premiums. That 20 cents out of every health care dollar that isn't spent on your healthcare. So if your premiums are $10,000, the insurer is only spending $8,000 on care. The doctor has to hire someone to get insurance company pre-approvals. I have an American nurse friend whose only job it is to get insurance company pre-approvals for treatment. Her entire job and salary are a waste of your money.

Then there's the 3rd party billing companies, who doctors have to hire and pay to do their billings and collections. The largest department in American hospitals is the billing department. Hundreds of insurance companies all with differing paperwork.

American spend in excess of 30% of every healthcare dollar on administration. 20% to the insurance companies, and even more to satisfy their requirements before you get ANY treatment. Countries with single payer, spend less than 10%. In Canada, it's 7%, but some European countries I've seen at 5%.

Here's how people like you are stupid. But for the 20% how do they pay their expenses? I'm not going to ask because I know that you really are that stupid.

Its typical of the left, they assume that 20% is net profit. They also assume government can somehow perform the work the private insurers are doing at no cost so the entire 20% is all savings. Nobody ever claimed the left are any good at math or thinking.

I work in the healthcare industry dummy. Why don't you educate yourself on ICD-10 codes and how it blew all out of proportion thanks to government.

I don't give a fuck where you work and if you truly worked in the healthcare industry you know many procedures including ct scans, mri's, etc have need pre authorization long before obamacare for over and under 65 products.
