Voter ID?

To get a case for your family, all you had to do was show an ID. Because we all have one.
Yes, we all have one. Lack of ID isn't the problem. State laws that deny citizens who have ID their right to vote are the problem.
Haven't heard that argument before. It's been about blacks not being able to get ID. Somehow whites can get ID easier. I guess it's one of those white privileges things.
The laws require specific types of ID that, coincidentally, people who might vote the "wrong way" are less likely to have and won't recognize the kind of ID they do have.
Right, the Cosco's membership ID card will not work.

Then it is time to wise up and get the ID required. And develop an incentive to give a shit.
Ignorance is no excuse. To lazy to get the proper ID? Then stay home and let the rest of America make the decision. There is no reason to let Syrians, Mexicans, or Nigerians choose our officials because someone in Chicago didn't get his ID.
And if you don't make enough money, demand a raise. And if you're late for an appointment, drive real fast.

All good advice.

If you can't come up with enough money within a four year period to get a $10.00 ID, then your opinion of who should run our country should remain just an opinion.
How about the poorest on HUD get a voter ID from HUD, as long as they are US citizens. That should take care of the poor unfortunates that really don't give enough of a shit to work for one day in 4 years to obtain one like the rest of us.

This is a UN directive. It is called Immigrant Votes Win. That is what is behind this "too poor to get an ID, so just let anyone vote instead" rigging of our system and nothing more.

Driving isn't a privilege. It's a licensed activity, like hunting or running a business.

A privilege is available only to a select group and not to the general public.

All citizens of the United States have privileges awarded them under our Constitution. It is a privilege of Americans to elect our own officials.
Non-Americans are the group that are not given the privilege. A wise decision. Otherwise they would flood our country and try to sway our elections. < A phenomenon we are witnessing right now, thanks to the UN regime occupying our White House.
And breathing oxygen is a "privilege" of Earth people that denizens of oxygen-free planets don't have.

Context son, context.

What's the big deal? Take Chicago for example. You don't need a driver's license. You don't need a voter registration card. Even a tombstone is enough ID to allow you to vote.

Daughter, not son, and the context is there. There is nothing in the Constitution that permits Spaniards, for example, to come to our country to elect our officials.
You are off point. It doesn't matter what you call it, elections in this country are not decided by foreigners. Because Obama has removed our borders does not and should not mean that our elections become free for alls.

Be it privilege or mandate, it still ONLY pertains to American citizens. The "Too poor to get an ID" is the rhetoric this regime and Clinton after this, use to get the votes they need. They are polluting red states with illegals for voting purposes. They are letting anyone that wants to, skew our elections. It has to stop , and how incredibly easy it would be to stop it. Free voting ID's to the poor. If we can give them a free phone we can make them legit enough to vote. Do you have a birth certificate or citizenship papers? There ya go. Show it for a free ID.

The topic is Voter ID, not Get Into The Country ID or Let's Bring The Constitution Into The Discussion To Really Muddy It Up ID.

You have an ax to grind and are really stretching to discuss it here.

This thread is about, what is the big deal about showing an ID to vote. I have 0 axe to grind. I have been showing my ID and voting for years. The reason it has become an issue is because our government wants to alter the elections in their favor. Other than that, there is no big deal. Want to vote, show an ID. If you are an American citizen, vote. If not, no vote. A valid ID removes the guesswork and the rigging.
We have immigration laws too. Let's dust them off and help alleviate the problem of non-citizens stealing our elections.

Let's establish a national ID and eliminate all these problems we suffer for the lack of it. It's not going to happen overnight but it need be no more onerous than registering for the draft (for those of us already born) or creating a birth certificate at birth, or registering a birth if not born in a hospital.

But we're never going to stop fighting over ID and entitlement until we implement a single ID for everyone eligible for it that is accepted everywhere in the country, by law.

Why not DHS? The Social Security Administration pays for SS cards, the DHHS pays for Medicare cards. If this card of needed by every American citizen to establish exactly that, let the department that will benefit most from it provide for the card.

No problem with that but I would also have the Federal Government pay for and require the States to use the same voting devices through out the nation.

In 10 states every federal election, we use duplicate systems to make sure they are being accurately counted where the electronic device also produces a hard copy receipt. Both are counted to ensure 100% accuracy and discourage hacking.

In other words, taxpayers. The problem is it will be just ANOTHER something those that don't pay the taxes to the pot which will fund it getting something for nothing.

As long as it is 100% free to the voter, I have no problem with voter ID.

My state identified approximately 170,000 in the state that didn't have the type ID needed to meet the state's voter ID laws. They offered a FREE ID AND a FREE RIDE to get them. TWENTY FIVE took them up on it statewide. The bad part about it was people still whined about voter IDs being wrong.

Actually no. Neither the Constitution nor the Bill of Rights grants anyone the right to operate a motor vehicle.

???? No, what? And what does the constitution have to do with driving? Why bring it up?

Simply to restate again that driving is not a right.
