Most candidates form a platform and run on it. Trump did the opposite, ran on personality and populism and is forming his platform as he goes along. More like a businessman than a politician. Go figure.

It isn't much different than what obama did, hope and change was the running theme and lots of people ran out of hope and don't like the change so the stage was set for a Trump character to come along.

What kind of dumbass businesses do you run... There is a thing call a business plan... Most businesses need capital and to get that you need a business plan...

Obama had policies very early on... Obama reinvented the way to have that message clear and disciplined in an election... His grassroots using Social Media are considered to be ground breaking in world politics...

I'm curious, R-Derp...after 7 plus years of Barry...do you have any clue what his plans are for taxes, the economy or foreign policy? If not...why aren't you worried about that? Oh, that's right...he's Barack Obama...so he gets a pass from you!

Businesses do not operate in a vacuum and adjust to market demands. A plan to sell x amount of items can't predict exactly how they are going to be sold.

But you are wrong about obama, he ran on personality and race. Most couldn't tell you jack shit about what he stood for.

The President of the U.S. does not have the Constitutional power to demand that a wall be built between the U.S. and Mexico. He can only suggest it and try to convince Congress to facilitate it by legislation. Same for tax policy, and immigration law tweaks. The President does have the power to declare a moratorium on certain immigration matters, and previous Presidents have temporarily blocked immigration from selected countries. But a President can only suggest these things.

After 7+ years of lawless O'Bama, it may have escaped some people, but on most major policy issues, the President can only lead and suggest to Congress, but the guts of policy changes are tied up in money matters, which is Congress' bailiwick.

With all due respect, Ted...Barack Obama ran on vague promises about "Hope & Change" with very few specifics and what he was specific about quite often turned out to be total bullshit. He's been the penultimate "empty suit"...all image and very little substance!

Several years ago I remember a politician running for office talking about 'shovel ready jobs'.

Never heard much about it after the election. .......... :dunno:

Didn't include money for shovels in the Stimulus.

(That would have put it over a trillion)

(government prices)

Except this was his manifesto. Just because you didn't read it doesn't mean it didn't exist.

Democratic Party Platforms: 2008 Democratic Party Platform

Actually Obama's 2008 campaign using social media had huge amount of issues covered. He used social media with voters and campaigners to keep everyone on message and to get feedback... This was groundbreaking and used quite heavily afterwards, Ted Cruz used this method quite heavily too.

Yes in speeches he talked about 'Hope and Change' but he was quite detailed in his message....

Trump is just awful in this area and has been heavily criticised for his lack of detail... That is what turned off so many senior GOP members... He has the worse record in telling the truth than any candidate in history..

Most serious media are ranging his budget at being $10 - $12 trillion down on 10 years. Trump is no fiscal conservative, he not even close.

The latest estimates to his trade plans will cost 4 million jobs...

These are serious economists, Trump is just selling and there is a section that just want to buy... He is a snake oil salesman...

I take anything any candidate says with a grain of salt. About Trump in particular, I'm not so much concerned about his suggestions as I am about his personality. I'll likely vote for Trump and for Democrats in the House and Senate races. When a single party has control of the both the presidency and the congress it hasn't worked out so well.

Did YOU read that "manifesto", Ted? It was really long on promises...and really short on things that were actually done! So who is the "snake oil salesman"...Donald Trump who hasn't had a chance yet...or Barack Obama who has had almost eight years to show what he could do and has failed to deliver on virtually everything that platform promised?

You're posting the DNC platform to try to prove obama was specific? Is this a joke?

Did you sleep through the turn around that Ronald Reagan initiated after Jimmy Carter's four years? Reagan started the longest period of economic growth in American history? You gotta stay away from those web sites you hang out on, R-Derp...they're melting your mind!
