This latest incident violent incident in Charlottesville is once again illustrating how our divisions are increasing, and how the "sides" of the "fence" are becoming more clear.

On one side of the fence, we have the people who appear to think they're "accomplishing" something by screaming at, verbally attacking, insulting, blaming, and now, finally, physically attacking and even KILLING those who dare to disagree with them. Attack, attack, attack, no matter what.

Their political affiliations are irrelevant, because their behaviors are so similar. They would much rather scream than communicate. They would much rather attack than heal. They would much rather "beat" those who dare to disagree than find a way to co-exist with them like normal, well-adjusted adults.

On the other side of the fence is the majority of the country, those who know that the only way to solve problems is to communicate and cooperate. That you're not always going to get your way. That sometimes you have to be a little humble, check your ego, and respect differing opinions. And that -- horror of horrors -- you may actually be wrong about something now and then.

So, which side of the fence are you on?
.

This. Enough is enough. We've lost civility, respect for each other, respect for the opposition, respect for our institutions and worst of all - cooperation has become a dirty word.

Colonel Sanders in your metaphor would be the DNC.
you want to cut your own throat? be my guest

If I wanted to cut my throat, I would vote for the party that penalizes Asians for being born Asian under affirmative action: the Democrat Party.
repubs still allow asians into america? think any work for amazon msft aapl etc etc etc ?

In English?
Only speak asian

After dividing California Democrats in 2014, affirmative action resurfaces in the race for governor

A debate about affirmative action has emerged in the campaign for governor, threatening to inject a potentially volatile racial element into the 2018 contest after the issue divided California Democrats along ethnic lines three years ago.

The question of whether race should be considered in admissions to California’s colleges and universities was raised in recent weeks when the state’s Latino and black legislative caucuses sent a letter to the top six gubernatorial candidates.

Legislators polled the politicians about their views on affirmative action and track records on diversity efforts, and asked them to detail proposals to diversify colleges and state government that they would pursue if elected governor. The candidates were also asked about efforts they would undertake to help diversify leadership in the private sector, where they have no official control.

For California political observers, the questionnaire recalls a 2014 move by Latino and black lawmakers to repeal Proposition 209, which voters approved in 1996 to ban affirmative action in university admissions.

The effort met unexpected resistance. After the measure to lift the ban quietly won Senate approval, it caught the attention of Asian American activists who said their children would be harmed if affirmative action was reinstated. On social media networks, some argued that their children had to perform better than students of other races to be admitted at elite universities, a situation that would be aggravated if the ban was rescinded.

In response to the concerns, Asian American state senators who supported the measure expressed new reservations, and others in the state Assembly vowed to oppose it, leading then-Assembly Speaker John A. Pérez to shelve it.

But tensions lingered. Several Latino and black lawmakers withdrew their endorsements of then-state Sen. Ted Lieu to succeed retiring Rep. Henry Waxman when the Torrance Democrat backed off his support for the measure after initially voting for it...

But, please, tell me more about how I'm cutting my own throat by not voting Democrat. :)

For me, there is no fence.Bank on it. No fence, no division, no violence. Proverbially speaking of course.
Okay, you'll need to explain that one.
.

There are forces trying to create that fence between us I believe. And this rally, though instigated by people from the KKK and other extremists, also saw other show up with clubs and ready to fight before the rally ever started. Maybe they are all on the same side of the "fence".

The failure here was with the local police and mayor for not blocking off streets and keeping these guys separated. Did they want this to happen?

You can use dumb ass figurative language all you want. But a judge even upheld the permit. Police were not following the law. That in itself is a form of terror if you want to start talking terror. And then the police stood down as a mob took over the streets and initiated violence. And it is always this way with Antifa. You can go and see the YT vids on Seattle right now. It's Antifa acting violent as the police there do their fucking jobs and stifle their efforts to reach the peaceful protesters. All the Charlottesville police in conjunction with the state police did was create a violence corridor and demonize people who came out for a peaceful demonstration. That's textbook fascism. I know as a liberal, you aren't averse to fascism though.

I was using Trump and his cabinets language. If you hate it so much, take it up with them, not me.

I agree, the police didn't protect the terrorists/hate groups as well as they could have. They failed to provide them with their perfect little safe space so they could feel warm and welcomed. I'm not going to shed a tear about that. If you want to launch the investigation into Trump not protecting Americans, go for it.

And I am not a Liberal, nice try to paint a different untrue picture, but didn't work. Sorry buttercup.

Well, then you're a deuche all the same. Don't try to pass the buck to Trump because of your deuchy little argumentation style. Trying to use "safe space" as insult is beyond retarded. It's simply a space that was granted for their use. And when police did not comply with the law and do their jobs, they enabled the violence. People do have a right to legitimately expect literal safe space. Trying to conflate the term is nothing but deuchy on your part. The govt. is in existence to protect the welfare of the people. They failed, "big time," as Trump would say, since your such a fan.

Read through the thread.

We have a long way to go.

Absolutely. I call them the Division Pimps - people on both ends of the spectrum who have a vested professional interest in keeping us angry & divided. Media types, activists, groups who do nothing but condition their flocks to push their end's propaganda and demonize (damn near literally) anyone who dares to disagree with them.

You can see the results of their efforts everywhere in our culture now, definitely on this board, and obviously on this thread.

Again you got one side fighting against a real injustice and the other who made up a lie and is now trying to enforce the lie they have made themselves believe.

You don't think the people (who organized this rally) showing up in body armor and carrying automatic weapons, odd?
