YOu were whining because they changed the laws getting rid of happy hour. I pointed out that MIGHT be a good idea. You k now, people getting piss drunk on cheap beer and then driving home afterwards.



Um, still not seeing the problem here. People in the community didn't like the all night bars.

I used to live in a place called Cicero, IL which had the same problem. All night bars that were kind of a public nuisance. I remember one time I heard some moaning in my gangway, and there was this tattooed freak passed out with one leg hanging over a fence. So I called the cops, who promptly gave the guy a kick in the ass. Turns out he was leaving a bar, forgot where he was and passed out in my gangway.

Another occasion, some patrons of one of the bars had a fight in my backyard. Hit the poor guy with a metal rake I left in the backyard. (I stopped leaving my garden tools out after that.) Eventually, the town got behind a mayor who promised to clean that shit up, and she did.

Go back and read what I posted, Oh Clueless One! I talked about the lowering and raising of the drinking age as well as them getting rid of Happy Hours!

Here's my problem with people not liking bars where they live, Joey! If you bought a place in a nice quiet neighborhood and then some rowdy bar opened up that kept you awake all night then I'm in full support of your being angry about it! On the other hand if you bought a place in a neighborhood KNOWN for it's nightlife and bars why should the neighborhood change to suit YOU? Why didn't you buy a place where it was quiet?

I didn't abandon that at all. Nixon capped the prices across the board and passed a decent COL. All without Congress. The other Politics were scared to death of Nixon. He had enough on most of them to send them to prison. They had to come up with something and Nixon played right into their hands. Considering that it was a known factor that he was going to be reelected by a landslide, can you explain what he had to gain with the breakin? His only real sin was that he tried to protect people loyal to him. Something that Rump and Raygun never did attempt.

Doesn't matter. Once I've bought a property, I have a say in how the neighborhood is zoned.

Nixon was always a paranoid person, Vrenn! I think you can trace the reasons he would authorize the "Plumbers" to break into Democratic headquarters back to what the Kennedy's did to him in the 1960 election.

I don't have the faintest idea who or what you're talking about when you say Nixon had things on other politicians that had them scared to death of him. Would you care to give an example of what you're talking about?

Once again, Nixon didn't get forced into resigning over capping prices. That's absurd. He got forced out because of Watergate. He got forced out because he tried to use the power of the Presidency to silence his enemies. Not because he USED the power of the Presidency successfully but simply because he TRIED to use the IRS and the FBI to go after those who were attacking him!
It's rather ironic because "Tricky Dick" has the reputation for being dirty because of what he TRIED to do and failed at...while Barack Obama's reputation has emerged unscathed even though he DID use the IRS and the FBI against his political opponents!

Kindly explain how you test the long term effects of a new vaccine in a short period of time, Vrenn?
