Why can't the GOP get anything done?

Republicans have functioned as the Party of No for ten years. It is easy to vote No because you just oppose anything that comes up for a vote

Voting Yes is hard. You have to reach an agreement on what to vote Yes on. That means you have to be willing to compromise with the factions in your party. Republican mindset is...If I don't get everything I want, then nobody gets anything

The result is they haven't passed a single significant bill in 2 1/2 years of being in power
It is a good thing that those fuck ups in Washington can't get anything done, because more laws and regulations means less freedoms for the country… fact

I know....EVERYONE in Washington is a fuck up and is incapable of getting things done

That is why we got stuck with Trump. The idea was to bring a great businessman, great negotiator like Trump in to show those Washington fuck ups how things get done

So, what has happened by bringing in a political outsider?
Trump is embroiled in scandal
Trump is incapable of forging a deal within his own party
Trumps has appointed people who likewise do not know how to function in congress
First, of all there would be no trump if there was no Obama...
Second, Trump is a bull in a China shop, the more distraction/damage that happens in Washington DC the better.
Third, The death of the GOP establishment while most likely will not happen would be a good thing.
The only thing that keeps the GOP in power, are gerrymandered districts, voter suppression, the DNC's failure to back qualified candidates, and a stacked supreme court!!!
No, you need introspection, it is the democrat party that keeps the Republicans in power. Hillary got Trump elected how sweet is that? Trump has had time to stack the SCOTUS, you know the SCOTUS that made law with gay marriage and wrote law with the Obamacare decisions.

So funny you folks, no voter fraud by lots of unproven voter suppression.
Agreed. Listen, I'm a independent. After this last election and the need the DNC had to push Hillary on ballot, I was done. This woman had lost to Obama, almost lost to Bernie, clearly she was a no win candidate, that along with the fact the democrats never backed or supported Obama....I was done. So you will not get an argument out of me on this one. And just for the record....anything Trump touches will someday come back and bite all of you in the ass eventually, you've been warned

Because this isn't your father's GOP. They have caved to the leftist trash currently polluting our population.

Interesting
So what do you think Republicans need to do to actually get things done?

My fathers GOP had liberal members of the party like Rockefeller and Jacob Javits. The shift to the right is a recent event
They won't get anything done. Its the party of bad ideas vs the party of no ideas.
Why is the right wing getting equal pay for inferior work?
That's the liberal mantra?

It's July of 2017. Those dirty old Liberals are last years news, and the GOP controls both houses of Congress and the White House. It doesn't get much better than this if you are a Republican President, So, we're 6 months into this administration....why can't the GOP get anything done??

* No healthcare overhaul

* No tax reform

* No budget deal

* No infrastructure upgrades

* No wall on our southern boarder

* No national debt reduction

* No Keystone pipeline

The GOP won't be able to blame the Democrats this time around, the GOP has shut the Democrats out of any policy discussions. So, what's the problem Republicans?? :bye1:

P.S. 18 months until the midterms, and the clock is ticking.....

Keystone pipeline? Trump Revives Keystone Pipeline Rejected by Obama

You guys have to talk to your propaganda minster, they a fibbing to you.

Only because rump will profit.

2 1/2 years Rs have had control of congress and have done nothing except enrich themselves and the 1%.

Trump will most likely nominate three maybe four Supreme Court justices… That is good for America
Listen, Hitler was good for Germany....until all hell broke lose. There will be eventually consequences for you nuts, I just hope I live long enough to wittness it.
Hitler got, national socialism to work. The right wing in the US, cannot. It really is, that simple.

Very true

Without his leadership of the Birther movement Trump never would have entered politics
Correction: without the help and push from Russian operatives, Trump would never have entered the race. This man has ran for president once before, never heard of Russia, never mentioned Putin...he was contacted and given information on Hillary and took that and ran with it, otherwise, he's still be trying to push his fake University and his horse meat steaks on the public....and of course still trying to stiff his contractors.

The reason the "Republicans" can't get anything done is because they aren't Republicans. They are pseudocons, cowards, liars, hypocrites, bigots, and retards.

They only care about one thing: winning.

They lied to win, and now they are caught with their tiny dicks in their tiny hands.

Yep, it is the establishment and your ilk trying to bring down the country because of Trump winning. You and your ilk said it would never happen and now you have to wallow in the rejection of Nov 8

How is that pipeline doing?

Last I heard, potential customers of the pipeline are backing out and it is becoming less economically feasible
Editorial: Keystone Pipeline Can't Overcome Basic Laws of Economic

TransCanada is having trouble getting commitments from oil companies to use the pipeline. Firms would rather take their chances on spot-market oil, even if they have to pay more to transport it, than risk long-term commitments to the Canadian oil.

TransCanada has said it wants commitments for 90 percent of the pipeline’s capacity before it continues building. Keystone XL will be capable of moving 835,000 barrels a day, with an average transportation toll of $8 a barrel.

Score one for Obama
BS, Obama was anti-everything. If the pipeline doesn't go threw it isn't the fault of Trumps. He opened the door that nampy pampy Obama closed to make folks like you happy and seem important.

So if it is a little deal then why did Obama puff up his breast feathers and make it a big deal? Oh right, he liked political theater, just like his Greek temple his first run.

Why the delusion of Russia influencing Trump? That does not sound like independent thinking it sounds more like spewing the Democrat propaganda. Why would Trump think that being ally with Russia would be a good thing? It actually makes absolutely no sense.

I will say this. Yesterday Trump said that they should just let Obamacare collapse. He doesn't own it and the GOP doesn't own it either. When if falls, the Dems will come running looking for help.

SORRY, DONALD, YOU ARE WRONG

The GOP ran on repealing and replacing Obamacare for 7 long years. YOU are the president now, the GOP who made those promises run the Congress. You can no more disown the mess of Obamacare just because you didn't create the mess than you can ignore a missile from N. Korea just because you didn't launch it! It is a national crisis that like it or not, people need relief from and you guys are charged with fixing.

The GOP either fixes healthcare and does it soon, or the GOP's ass is grass and you too will be out on your can in 2020. You better take Paul, Lee and those others out in the back alley and 'splain it to them real fast until they see fit to vote right. Getting 80% or even 50% of what you want is better than nothing at all.

Paul Ryan said republicans got used to being the opposition party. All they had to do was to say NO to everything. But now that they're in control, they don't know how to do anything else.

Too funny. Obamacare is all democrat. If the Republicans can't get a majority it only speaks of a few Republicans that is all it takes. The Republicans are trying to fix the democrat huge mistake but changing a entitlement program is nearly impossible. I would be surprised if it is ever replaced or repealed. I am thinking it would take a democrat president to do so considering that the democrats walk in lock step with their party.

Your analogy is like saying that the Democrats took a crap in the pool and it is the Republicans fault for it being there if they don't clean it up.

No, Obamacare and the disaster it is, is all Democrat.

But they didn't say no to everything. If Ryan said that then he is delusional. Plus it is the opposition parties job to be in opposition.

As long as a minority in the Senate can block the majority no party can be said to be in control of the Senate. The GOP controls ONLY the House and the Presidency. They hold more seats in the Senate but are in no way a majority when a majority in the Senate equates to 60.

Having said that, if the GOP had 60 votes, they would still fail to govern. They care far too much about what the progressives think about them for one and are averse to the risking of their power and income.

We see the power of the media in this regard. Regardless, this is why I left the GOP. They fear to limit the power of government, pay lip service to their constituents, and are in fact, no different than the Democrats.

Greed and power, it is all they care about.

Too funny. Obamacare is all democrat.
No, Obamacare and the disaster it is, is all Democrat.

It’s worth noting that many facets of the Republican’s health care agenda at the time made it into the Affordable Care Act. The Affordable Care Act was a private market plan, and it dropped a long-held Democratic priority to include a public option.

In the end, no Senate or House Republicans voted for the Affordable Care Act in its final version.

Republican amendments were adopted in both the House and the Senate during the legislative process.

Gutierrez says hundreds of Republican amendments in ACA
