Of course, the quoted post was only identifying a positive outcome from an uncomfortable prospect. More taxation was not requested nor deemed good. As with politics, people are voting, this time with their dollars, against their own interests.
Intelligent choices are made voluntarily. Other kinds of choices can be made using the intelligence available, but what the choice may be will not by necessity be intelligent, just evaluated in comparison with the others in a, hopefully, optimized intellectual fashion (yeah, long sentence).
