I work monday through friday at the Institute from 10pm until 6 am, monday through friday nights. Then Saturday and Sunday nights come in at 8pm and leave at 8am the following morning, Like I said, that has been since September and I have not had one single night off. I even worked Christmas Eve, Christmas, and New Years Eve and New years day. I worked Thanksgiving, and on those holidays I worked extra because I covered partial shifts for others that wanted the time of for family.
But thats not the end of it, I also work for my Brother-in-law Monday through Thursday, from 3pm until 6pm, He owns a small business and I fill in at the store for those hours, most Saturdays I work the store for him from 9am until 1pm. many hours but, from just the institute alone it is bringing me paychecks that are just shy of $1800.00 a week.
I just had the Taxes done for last year, taken from the checks over the year my wife and I paid $37,000 in taxes, that's just what was taken from the pay, I was actually hoping to get some what of a refund this year, however to my surprise we freaking OWED an additional $9,000.00 (give or take a couple dollars).
Im 58 years old and it really pisses me off when I work like I do and then see some able bodied POS sitting on their ass all day doing nothing but collecting money from my paycheck. If I can do it at 58, I see no reason that someone in their 20s through,, well, 60s cant do the same damn thing.
Of course these hours at the institute are going to change, I let them know a few weeks back. They just hired someone to take the weekend night shift, I have just a couple of weekends to "train" them, which is basically introducing them to the clients and getting the clients to recognize him, and bringing him up to date on the medications and times they are given for each client. I will also sit in on his counseling sessions, (yes, we counsel at night, I actually have 3 group sessions that start at 1:30 am).
I'm at work right now as a matter of fact.
So like I said, it really pisses me off to have to pay for someone else to live for free. If they actually CANT work because of some disability, a real disability, then I am more than happy to contribute some of my time in order for them to have a place to live and some food on their table. I just had the Taxes done for last year, taken from the checks over the year my wife and I paid $37,000 in taxes, that's just what was taken from the pay, I was actually hoping to get some what of a refund this year, however to my surprise we freaking OWED an additional $9,000.00 (give or take a couple dollars).
Im 58 years old and it really pisses me off when I work like I do and then see some able bodied POS sitting on their ass all day doing nothing but collecting money from my paycheck. If I can do it at 58, I see no reason that someone in their 20s through,, well, 60s cant do the same damn thing.
Of course these hours at the institute are going to change, I let them know a few weeks back. They just hired someone to take the weekend night shift, I have just a couple of weekends to "train" them, which is basically introducing them to the clients and getting the clients to recognize him, and bringing him up to date on the medications and times they are given for each client. I will also sit in on his counseling sessions, (yes, we counsel at night, I actually have 3 group sessions that start at 1:30 am).
I'm at work right now as a matter of fact.
So like I said, it really pisses me off to have to pay for someone else to live for free. If they actually CANT work because of some disability, a real disability, then I am more than happy to contribute some of my time in order for them to have a place to live and some food on their table. But not if they can work but just decided to collect from social programs instead.

Sadly, you are in good company. So many I know work too many hours and pay too much in taxes. It is frustrating to have so much taken in taxes each week, and still have to pay on April 15. Even as a married couple having taxes taken out all year at the single rate didn't help. How is that even possible?

It is infuriating to see so many people who are able bodied yet go out of their way to get subsidized by people, who are often in worse shape than they are.

Many in recent years suddenly came down with the unexplainable Fibromyalgia. It's the latest craze with those wanting disability checks. Used to be everyone had a bad back but now they can detect and often fix that. Now, everyone has this mysterious ailment that science has yet to explain. Doctors seem to be diagnosing patients with it when they continually complain of discomfort or pain with no detectable cause. Even the commercial for the treatment of it says that Fibromyalgia is thought to be overactive nerves and the medicine is believed to calm those nerves In other words, they don't have a fucking clue and there are no tests to detect it. It's mostly patients answering questions. Funny how they will answer yes when asked if they have pain when the object is to get approved for disability. I know two people who claim to have it. It seems to come and go with both of them, depending on what activities they wish to enjoy. I would think that planning and paying for a ski trip in advance would be crazy with such an unpredictable disability but they do it. I know one guy who is in his 30's and gets disability for asthma. He still smokes and drinks all day and that seems to agree with him but work causes him to have an attack. Some want drug addiction and alcoholism to be deemed disabilities that warrant people getting checks each month. While they are debilitating conditions, people can get help with them and they are only permanent if the person refuses help.

I am also pissed that we are spending billions on illegal aliens and Muslim refugees when we have our own citizens, including veterans, living in the streets. We shouldn't spend a dime on anyone until our vets are cared for and we help our own homeless people.

When government offers freebies, you can bet that people will figure out a way to get some whether they truly need it or not. Some don't really need to be on welfare but it's just easier than working. And those who do work hard and have for years get to pay more and more of their hard earned money to support freeloaders. I don't mind helping our veterans or people who truly need it. I would rather flush money down the toilet than give it to those who are able bodied but figured out how to work the system.
