Speaking personally, I specifically understand "welfare" be made up of tax money that people who pay taxes pay for. I also suspect that if "welfare" were working correctly then people who actually paid for it would not be complaining as much.

Anyway to answer the question from the moronic OP: Johnathan Capehart explains in his Washington Post Article: "Civil Rights Act. The GOP hasn’t done anything that historic, that meaningful for black Americans since then."

Of course, neither have democrats.

However, because Kennedy and Johnson were democratic presidents during the MLK Era, blacks associate with the democratic party.

Ironic that Kennedy encouraged individuals "Not asking what your country could do for you, but what you can do for your country."

Capehart would do well to consider this before pledging allegiance to the democratic party because they have done more than republicans..... (the list is mysteriously missing).
