I've spent eight years trying to understand this. This guy, of all people.

What makes them willing to rip up their family, sell out their religion, cheer on horrible behaviors, and spend money they can't afford, or that could be better used elsewhere in their lives? What makes them able to ignore and deny and forgive so much? I have some guesses here and there, but I surely don't know yet.

Worse, you can't just ASK them. They can't express it without falling into rote talking points and personal attacks. I don't think THEY even know.

The then Progressives helped to destroy the automobile industry in the 1970's when they went full tilt buying foreign vehicles when the first oil crisis occurred. Foreign cars were limitedto10% or so until that was relaxed. The loyalty to American cars were from union people and other working-class individuals. We criticize each other for hypocrisy. This is and was a huge one. Now Progs want to put a final dagger in the auto industry with the EV agenda.
