Impeach Wray & Garland

If they can get into Trump's private residence in Mar A Lago. Sans that, they are SOL.
You don't realize. Trump didn't declassify just his copy. Trump declassified every copy of that document in federal possession.

Those documents instantly became available to the public, and to every friend or foe.

we declassify stuff all the time....so what?
We don’t do it because the president feels like keeping state secrets in his basement.

These are closely guarded secrets to get TS/SCI. Now everyone gets to see them.

In any case there is a process and a paper trail for documents that have been properly declassified. If the documentation is not there he is in deep doo-doo.
There is a reason for that process. Trump can indeed declassify almost anything the government has classified. But there is an orderly process to do so.

Because as I mentioned. Trump wasn't declassifying his copy of the document. He was declassifying every copy of the document.

There's stuff from the Manhattan project that is still secret. The US guards it's nuclear secrets very closely. The president cannot just declassify that stuff. The joint chiefs would resign if he tried.

Johnson was a Republican, moron...

You sir, are truly stupid

Andrew Johnson (December 29, 1808 – July 31, 1875) was the 17th president of the United States, serving from 1865 to 1869. He assumed the presidency as he was vice president at the time of the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. Johnson was a Democrat who ran with Lincoln on the National Union ticket, coming to office as the Civil War

Yes the President can just declassify that stuff if he decides he wants to.

Frankly I am not sure what the Manhattan project has to do with this

The process is mandatory only for people who aren't the president, you dumb fuck.

In my case, it is because I do not want to live under a one-party police state.

You and I are very different in that regard.

Yet you vote for the duopoly which is in essence a one-party police state

Agreed...or for that matter the SoS wanting to keep that stuff on a third party server.

Trump keep them guarded with armed federal agents....and he had the authority to declassify it, for whatever reason he wanted

Well, one thing is for sure. They didn’t walk out with boxes of menus.

What was in those boxes was at least at one point in time closely guarded state secrets that had no business residing in his basement.

None.

This is such a stupid point in history that we are arguing about this because it is completely unnecessary.
Actually, they did take Trump's bday dinner menu.

Some classified documents he can, just with a wave of his hand and a few magic words, they are declassified. However, the next president can just as easily, with a few magic words, reclassify them. So If Benedict Donnie says he said the magic words, Joey can say he reclassified all the documents Trumpybear took home.
There's not much point in classifying documents that have already been available to the public.

What makes you believe there was more than one copy?

He had no right to keep unclassified government documents hidden away in his basement.

If they’re declassified, then by law they become public.

He’s trying to have it both ways. He wants to keep them secret but he doesn’t want them classified. It makes no logical sense.

His underlings would still have the duty to go through the official process I believe, so there would be evidence of him using such incantations while he was still POTUS.
That is the exact point. Because as the case of Marbury v Madison, the underlying case, and not just the principle of judicial review, was decided.

The case proved that presidential acts aren't official, until the process is completed. In this case the president appointed judgeships before he left office, but because the paperwork wasn't delivered, the now ex-presidents intentions had no power behind them.

No, that isn't the law.
