Is this the Obama recovery everyone's talking about?

The stimulus ran out in 2010, and Pubs gave the economy the Debt "Crisis" kick in 2011, the sequester in 2012. Great job, a-holes. They've refused ANY normal economic help since they got the filibuster in 2/2010...

This is the Pub disfunction recovery...

The stimulus wasn't supposed to work until it "ran out" it was supposed to stimulate the economy into robust recovery.

It failed.

Well no.

It didn't fail to stimulate the economy.

It did exactly what it was projected to do.

Saved jobs, created jobs..and built infrastructure.

No. It has miserably failed to "stimulate" the economy AND we are going to have to eventually PAY for the additional MASSIVE debt Obamanomics has also incurred.

There is no evidence that it saved or created ANY jobs. And as far as building infrastructure, the Obama Administration is on a failing track.

And here's a graph of corporate profits. By the way who determines wages? The President? How about those folks who have seen record profits?

Obama delayed the mandate to buy into ObamaCare for another year.
Employees of the IRS who are Obama's cops in making sure everyone has Health Care
are looking to be exempt from it.

More and more people are trying to get away from it....

If it's the greatest thing to come our way in history.
Why is Obama delaying it.
Why are unions, and government employees trying to avoid it like a french kiss from Nancy Pelosi...
After a few drinks.

This hasn't helped wage growth, actually it helped lower wages. Why it's the same folks who realized record profits while worker incomes plummeted!

Lower wages are a function of a LOT of things. To the extent that there really ARE lower wages (for those fortunate to be able to GET work in the Obamaconomy), it could be attributed to all the taxation imposed by liberal "policies."

But for those who are lucky enough to find work, their wages are not decreasing. That';s just more stale old "divide and conquer" dishonest rhetoric from the left.

How many people took a new job that paid less than they were earning for the same job? Wages have been flat in Real Dollars (constant 1982 dollars) for the past 40 years.
The Department of Labor and most financial publications measure wage growth by using Real Dollars.

For real..

If Obama actually took questions at his press conferences or blow hard speeches we might understand where he is coming from

Why does he not take questions?

He does. Need links?

No need

White House Press Corps Wonders When Obama Will Actually Take Their Questions

The agitation appears to be increasing among the media as President Obama continues to avoid taking questions from White House reporters. On Friday, Obama's deputy press secretary parried a series of volleys from the White House press corps, all of whom wanted to know when the president would break his over-two-month streak of not formally answering their questions.

http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politic...e-rude-but-obama-doesnt-often-take-questions/

Hecklers Are Rude, but Obama Doesn’t Often Take Questions

Excuse me, sir,” Obama said as a reporter from the right-leaning Daily Caller website interrupted him. “It’s not time for questions, sir. Not while I’m speaking.”
Shortly after, Obama told the reporter, “the next time, I prefer you let me finish my statements before you ask that question.”
The rest of the press corps waited, as Obama asked. When he was done, the reporters shouted their questions. Obama turned his back, and walked inside the White House.
That’s par for the course for Obama, who rarely takes questions from the press pool that follows him almost futilely to his staged events.
Even when he intends to take questions, he does so sparingly. At his last “press conference” at the White House, Obama called on just three reporters

http://www.westernjournalism.com/ex...eports/the-mystery-of-barack-obama-continues/

Researchers have discovered that Obama’s autobiographical books are little more than PR stunts, as they have little to do with the actual events of his life. The fact is we know less about President Obama than perhaps any other president in American history and much of this is due to actual efforts to hide his record. This should concern all Americans.

Bush had 2 terms to rebuild the World Trade Center and get Bin Laden.

How'd he do?

:doubt:

Pretty good.

What did Obama do specifically to make those things happen? What was changed from Bush policies in effect when Obama took office?

Bush left office with a big fucking hole in the ground in NYC..and Osama bin Laden still alive.

What changed?

Bin Laden is dead.

And the Freedom tower is on the rise.

So you can't point to what Obama did to make these things happen can you?

Obama's Stimulus: Passed

ObamaCare: Passed

Dodd Frank: Passed

Auto Bailout, the one that saved Detroit: Passed

Fannie and Freddie now record profits

What were you saying?

All successful. How many of those passed when Democrats held the house? Thanks for making my point.

Successful?

No.

Except the stimulus was a third to half tax cuts. Republicans managed to get their greedy little thumbs into that pie and fuck it up like they do everything. But there were jobs created. As I posted to before, well over a hundred Republican house members who voted against the stimulus, managed to get stimulus money and create thousands of jobs which they took credit for, even showing up and having their pictures taken at ribbon cuttings. It's all on line. Not a secret. It's been linked to many times. If you really want to know the truth, you could spend some time going state by state and seeing what stimulus paid for.

My absolute favorite is King Arthur Flour. They call themselves America's oldest start-up. It's located in a fairly rural area of Vermont. The stimulus paid for broadband in their area. They were a relatively unknown company that made "specialty" flour for fine cooking. Now they sell all over the world to pastry businesses.

The company built a new warehouse next to their main business to house all the new products that are being sent out. They've tripled the number of people that work there. The majority of their business is now overseas, especially to France. The stimulus did that. And there are thousands of such success stories. But Republicans will never believe them. They insist it must be a failure because they worked so hard to make it fail. What odious people. How can you have respect for them?

Republicans hate Obama so much, they just assumed so did the rest of America. The last election proved otherwise. Not to them. To them, Obama is that black bastard that must be brought down so no black will ever again be president. Look how much influence Clinton has. And Republicans worked very hard to destroy him. Now they sing is praises. Once Obama is no longer president, he will be even more influential. Republicans have made a solid enemy of him. He won't forget.

Right, well 70% of Americans work for small bussinesses. Don't think think those folks are seeing record profits.

Actually, small businesses employ about 52% of Americans.
Small Business in the United States

depends on how small business is defined. The point is the majority of workers in the U.S. are not employed by corporations and that majority is much great than 52%

The plan was presented, projections were made, Obama got what he wanted. The stimulus did not stimulate the economy and the results compared to the projections are dismal.

It's funny that you blame the Republicans that were not in control of any chamber for this.

By thier own standards the thing failed, period. Second biggest spending bill in world history that fell flat and we have Obama, a bunch of dems and three republicans to thank (one of which who became a dem). Anyway you look at it the dems own that one.

The stimulus did stimulate the economy. The stimulus did exactly what it was supposed to. Unfortunately the economy was worse than most thought.

It did not stimulate the economy. Otherwise, the results would more closely match the projection. See that downward trend projected with or without the stimulus? Why hasn't that materialized?

George W. Bush inherited a strong economy, a budget surplus, and a nation at peace.
Presidents don't "inherit" anything they volunteer for the job.

Obama has done a very good job.
If he's done such a good job :

1.) How come he keeps having to "pivot" back to "focusing" on the economy?
2.) Half the country disapproves of his job performance and the half that does approve would give him props if he showed up at their doorsteps and lit their houses on fire.

The fact of the matter is throwing massive piles of other peoples money at problems isn't indicative of "doing a very good job" , it's indicative of doing a job that any 8th grader could handle.

I just laugh every time someone blames the economy on Obama or Bush. Most of what happens within the economy has nothing to do with the President or even Congress. The Fed can help or screw things up to a certain extent as Greenspan did by keeping interest rates so low for way too long, but overall, the economy goes through cycles for varying reasons. The biggest reason we are seeing a downturn is that the Baby Boomers stopped spending money because their kids grew up. The only real problem is that their kids have put off growing up and starting their own families, but that's about to start very soon. We are on the verge of a very big and long economic period of growth. Just hang in there.
