Jon Stewart has been fighting for the 9-11 responders since it all began on 9-11.
What's shameful is that he has to fight at all. What's shameful is that back in the early 2000s congress didn't pass a bill to take care of these heroes permanently so they didn't have to keep fighting all their lives for what's right. Proper health care. The government and EPA lied to them and all of us. That air wasn't safe.
We owe all these heroes everything. They didn't make us beg them to help on 9-11 and the days after. They just helped. We shouldn't make them have to beg for help now.
Politicians have used 9-11 and the first responders for their own political benefit yet they can't do what's right for them and provide permanent life long medical care for the diseases they're suffering now because they thought nothing of their own safety, they just went in to save lives.
