No doubt. However, an explanation for why that is the case is far harder to find, for the assertion that racists don't have black friends / employees is seemingly consistent. The reason why it's a tired, hollow non-argument is that a friendly disposition toward a personally known person (of another race) does not preclude, and is therefore no evidence for the absence of, derogatory stereotypes for not-personally-known people of that race.

At the point in time, Mr. Meadows made the remark, most people had the honest opinion that Obama was from Kenya. They didn't realize that "Obama" was actually just the alternative persona of Good Old Barry Soetoro , former don of the notorious Honolulu Choom Gang.

Telling someone's adversary to go back to Africa is hardly "racist" although it might be ill advised. The King of Wrestling told his adversary Tony Atlas that he was going to send him back to Africa, no question about him. No one ever said Ernie Ladd was "racist", in fact he stood up for the rights of blacks players in the AFL in the 1960's.
