Memorial Day weekend: Lower Gas Prices: Where are all the threads praising the Pres?

Obama has no control over the price of oil or gas unless his administration raises the federal gasoline excise tax or lowers it.
Each state has a different rate of excise taxes and in some states at the local level taxes can vary.
It's the market speculators in New York and London COMEX's that set prices...Speculation drives prices higher AND lower, and there are often fundamental issues of supply and demand that drive that speculation. And if you want to know the single biggest driver of high gasoline prices today, just look at the consumption growth in developing countries.

There are other bones of contention with Obama and his administration I will be following up on in a later post...

Obama has no control over prices -yes, but what he does control is obstructionism that leads to higher prices. American Energy Roadblocks by the Obama Administration - House Committee on Natural Resources

Because when they were going higher..there were sure enough of them directly blaming President Obama..

So..boys and girls?

Where is the love?

 :eusa_whistle:

Didn't you assure us he had nothing to do with gas prices? So which is it?
The whole gaggle of them including OBAMA told us Obama couldn't control it.

Sallow has had a change of heart...[errantly, none the less].:eusa_shhh:

Are you guys really this stupid?

Obama only has control of it when the prices dip down a little, not when it goes up. Now, if Obama could get the prices back down to where they where when he took over "$1.87" then I'd be impressed. The left think that the price dropping 10 cents to $3.67 is a great thing, what a bunch of morons.

You want to go back to losing 700,000 jobs a month and -8% GDP growth? That's why prices were down.

Gas prices are $3.25 here....been going down about a penny or two every day~

Maybe in a year the oil companies will owe us money.

In a year?

Oil companies owe this country big time.

The pity is..you and your ilk not only protect them..but keep shoveling tax payer money their way.

And the great Soetoro's obstructionist Policies have nothing to do with high fuel prices... It's solely that "evil" BIG OIL companies that are to blame. Sure thing!!! Again: American Energy Roadblocks by the Obama Administration - House Committee on Natural Resources

Funny.

"States Rights" only matter to you guys when the States want to do things like apartheid and keep people from marrying.

But when they have concerns about big oil fucking up their water tables.

Big oil wins.

Lower gas prices? Must be all that oil we get from Iraq that is paying for their reconstruction?

And speaking of TransCanada, notice how deceptively the GOP house worded the Keystone Spill Line blurb, and I'm not talking about the lie about tens of thousands of jobs. That "million barrels of tar sand, not oil, transported INTO the US will be transported right back OUT of the US to China because Canada does not want the spilled tar sand to pollute their territory as they could build a pipeline to the Canadian coast to ship it to China much cheaper.

Rejected TransCanada’s application to build the Keystone XL Pipeline. This project would have created tens of thousands of jobs and transported nearly a million barrels of oil a day into the U.S.

Thats easy.

The Prez, whoever he is, has nothing to do with gas prices.

The Prez just gets the blame for high prices and the credit for low prices.

It is what it is.

On this board..Obama just gets the blame.

Hence the thread.

Just wondering if the conservatives know if there is anything in the legislation guaranteeing that over 10K Americans will be hired..or that any of that oil must be sold to America?

Or..how about disaster recovery? Do they have as good a plan as BP did?

Well. Not in my book S.

Right now prices are going down and he will get the credit.

When they go back up for Summer VK he will once again get the blame.

As I said. It is what it is and it don't matter a shit who's sitting in the WH.

They would gladly go back to that if it meant getting the Black guy out.

They are corporate globalists who don't give a shit about America any longer.

any of the cons own-up to their craven partisanship in this matter yet? :eusa_eh: :eusa_whistle:

But that's only because the public is generally stupid about such matters as government. That's why you get morons saying "Keep your government hands off my Medicare".

Any president could effect gas prices in the U.S. if we tied our military protection of the Saudis and Kuwaitis to cheaper oil. But no POTUS has ever done that.
