Steyer had committed $100 million to making the 2014 elections all about the environment and global warming. Did you get the impression the midterms were centered around the environment? Neither did I. In fact, you could argue that the environment was the least important issue driving voters to the polls yesterday.

Even Steyer must have sensed that his expensive message was falling flat with voters and candidates, as he never burned the full hundred mil. With his NextGen Climate group, he did waste $65 million including $50 million out of his own pocket.

And what did Steyer get for this insane amount of political spending? A Republican held Senate that certainly won’t embrace his extremist global warming conspiracy agenda. He dumped these millions into the campaigns of democrats like Colorado’s Mark Udall, NC’s Kay Hagan, Iowa’s Bruce Bailey and Michelle Nunn in Georgia only to see them all loose.

If you spend $85 million dollars trying to make people give a rat’s ass about something and they still don’t, that’s a pretty good indication that you don’t have broad support. Hell, that’s a pretty good indicator that you don’t have any support. I’m sure in their next spin the green machine will claim that global warming causes environmentalists to accidentally vote Republican.

The Ban on domestic Exports still exists in this country............

Can someone show me the evidence that the legislation would allow that law to change..................Since it would be Canadian oil would it be exempt from that ruling..............

Finally, If Canada wants to sell out of the United States then why would it send it all the way to the Gulf Coast when it could do so from the Pacific through Canada............or the Atlantic through Canada.......................

Where the oil is 'diverted' to is irrelevant to a commodity like oil.

You will need to cite that.

The availability of oil anywhere effects the international price.

And?? You're not trying to imply that local gas price variance is impossible, are you? Obviously there are differences in gas prices in different localities. You can go 20 minutes and encounter 20% price variation at times. Just because crude wholesales on a global market does not mean that gasoline will retail at consistent international prices.

Further, that oil is going to market. That is a fact. The real question is weather we want it to travel on rail or pipeline. The sad fact is that refusing to build the pipeline is harmful to the environment rather than better as that same oil will travel over more harmful routs (and take more energy in doing so as well). There is no reason whatsoever aside from political posturing to continue and block the pipeline from being built.

No, I don't see that as the question at all. That's the ecological question, and as far as I'm concerned it's irrelevant. It's not that I don't care about the environment; I care deeply about it. But that entire line of argument was never anything more than an uninformed and ill advised response to the liberals' uninformed and ill advised attacks against the XL based on BS environmental "concerns." There never was an environmental aspect to this issue. It's simple economics.
