Do you think his calling local news reports of the protests "fake news" was diplomatic?
\No, but so what?
Nothing in particular. We all know "the way he is". We're no longer expecting anything better.

Let's just keep our standards as low as we can.
,
Yeah, virtue signalling is very effective.. And I've got some news for you. Britain has had a longer history, and until Trump, were even more creative in fabricating news. Now you think their fake new media should be protected by diplomatic protocol ffs?
Protected by diplomatic protocol? No. I would like to see our President act more like an adult in public, though.

I've actually come to understand something on this, over the last couple of months. I would never, ever act like he does in public. And certainly not if I held a public office. Neither would my wife, neither would my kids. We'd be embarrassed to catch ourselves acting so childish, undignified, uncontrolled and unintelligent like that. We'd be embarrassed to be around it, for that matter.

But maybe that's just how Trump fans behave in public. Maybe that's why you like him so much, he's just like you. That would actually explain, at least to some degree, how it seems you don't realize what an embarrassment he is. You're not seeing anything that you wouldn't do yourself. So what the hell, watching the President of the United States act like that is SO COOL.

Hey, we're all different.

That's my current theory, anyway.
.

So, in your theory, those whom you don't like, are revealed to be childish buffoons?

That is a little self serving do you not think?
I've noticed that much of the intellectual dishonesty here begins with the word "So....", then followed by some kind of straw man argument.

Nope, I think we're all different. And I've said a zillion times here, commitment to a hardcore partisan ideology not only distorts perceptions and thought processes, it can infect perfectly intelligent people. Like a virus, such as herpes.

I'm pretty comfortable with this theory. Just my opinion.
.

You say that "we are all different", but you lump Trump supporters as being "so childish, undignified, uncontrolled and unintelligent".

Have you heard about the good news regarding working class wages?

Yes, we're all different. I can't make it much more clear than that.

Working class wages have improved, but unfortunately there are some concerning signs. I'm putting together a thread titled "June 6, 2018: An Economy on Shaky Ground", that I'll post in the Current Events section here in a bit. I want to see what it looks like on the screen before I email it out to my advisory clients.

Those wages have been stagnant for decades. The people left behind are finally getting some help. This is huge, and this was one of the reasons that TRump's supporters supported, him, and something the COnventional Wisdom said was impossible.

Those jobs are the past. I was ridiculed for thinking that they could ever benefit from national policy.

THAT is what to judge a President on, what he does for those left behind in our society.

It's a very good idea. Current Events, huh?

Okay, I'm not expecting a civil conversation on this one, but I'm damn curious.

Trump has blown a few minds (including mine) with his contention that (a) those people who were protesting him in London weren't actually protesting him, and (b) the crowds that were, were "small" and reports of them were "fake news".

Okay. Here's what I'm wondering.

Do you think he was just lying about that, or do you think that, in his mind, he convinced himself about that, or do you think he was right and London welcomed him with open arms?

I think it's entirely possible that he was being serious. It's what I talk about regularly here - the subconscious mind can be very powerful and trick us into believing the absurd.

Your votes and thoughts, please.

You seriously think that politicians pay any attention to protesters not within direct line of sight?

Lol
It really does not matter... European socialism is nothing to inspire to be like. In fact opposite is true

I can't stand the insufferably self-righteous.
Calling trump an insufferable buffoon does not make someone "self righteous", unless your standards are in the gutter.
This is invariably cyclical and surely not what you were trying to convey, even as priggish as you are.
It's exactly what I meant. Your standards are so very low, that you think someone criticizing trump's childish, unethical, buffoonish behavior somehow makes them "self righteous". This is what trump cultism has done to your brain.

It’s called he’s fucking with you. He knows the left have no humor and will just lose their minds over any little thing he says.

No, that's trump cultist fantasy. He was the same ignorant, bombastic, thin skinned, classless twat when he was a democrat.

Well, if he's fucking with us by being an embarrassing, unprofessional, inarticulate, disrespectful, undignified, simplistic buffoon, I have to admit, he's nailing it.

Ya got me there.

Everything you aspire to be, I reckon.

If you weren’t such a Leftist you’d see the quality of life forms protesting and know that it’s a badge of honor to have such freaks and mentally ill oppose you.

Well, I see that coming at us from both ends. And, of course, neither end sees it. That's part of the illness.

I'm just one of the many kids in the cafeteria trying to eat their damn lunch during a food fight, wondering how much damage there will be in the end.
