Diversion doesn't serve you well. He was saying previous to women voting there was no wealth redistribution...women gained the right to vote in 1920...the following ~80 years were the most egalitarian the country ever saw. Obviously some of that wealth redistribution did some good out there.

Poll after poll shows that black voters are more conservative on social issues than whites. They are tougher on homosexuality, abortion, drugs, favor school prayer, etc..

The reason more blacks do not vote Republican is because they still equate conservatism (and, by default, Republicans) with racial prejudice. Plain and simple.

There was an immigration moratorium from the 1920s to the 1960s.

Labor scarcity did wonders for uplifting the black community, did even better than what CR laws have done. That's how you develop egalitarianism, not by taking from Peter to buy Pauline her birth control pills.

I think you need to recalibrate your opinion with the reality on the ground.

Check it out:

Look at the General Public support levels and realize that this also includes the Hispanic results. In the general public there is 48% support. Amongst Hispanic Catholics the support is at 54%.

The support that you imagine is found within the Hispanic community is actually going in the wrong direction. If you excluded the Hispanic support for gay marriage, the General Public support level would FALL.

Do Hispanics actually LOOK socially conservative to you? Have you looked at their marriage rate, their out of wedlock birth rate, their crime rate, their substance abuse rate, etc?

There is a huge mismatch in public perception in play here and you got caught in it. Secondly, most of the Hispanic Catholics come from lands where the Catholic Church is dominated by priests who are HEAVY into social justice theology, in other words, a form of communism.

The tens of millions of Hispanic voters are legal. Many have lived here for generations
