Don’t forget, the penalty for not having health care coverage will increase every year. In 2014, the maximum fee per family was $285. In 2015, the fee will increase to $325 per adult or two percent of income, in 2016 this rises to 2.5 percent of income. The penalty continues to rise until it caps at the average national premium for the bronze plan.

Fining people because they can't afford health insurance is insane, but then so are the people who wrote and passed Obamacare.

Health insurance was meant to be like property or auto insurance. Not meant for the little expenses, only the catastrophic expenses. Now it's expected to pay for routine check ups and every little thing. So, none of us are allowed to choose our own plans because we have to cover other peoples' expenses.

Of course, the big evil insurance companies are profiting from this. Funny how the Obama administration bad mouthed the insurance companies to pass Obamacare and now they are benefitting more than the people. If the government would have allowed companies to compete across state lines, costs would have come down long ago. Obamacare was written with approval by Big Pharms, who have a monopoly on drugs since it's illegal to buy cheaper ones elsewhere. And drugs available here are not always safe. One look at the countless lawsuits each year tells you that the FDA approves some real poison.

ACA DOES pay for preventive care, cheap doctor visits, and most testing, has transparent competition, only really costs if someone needs care, and has a cap barely higher than the deductible. So what IS the problem, Pub dupe? lol

There are many people in the US that can't afford or have to give up other things to pay the increased cost in premiums, co payments and deductibles. If you are confused about that I will gladly do a Google search for you and post examples. There are many documented..

Obama screwed up the best health care in the world so that the welfare queens could get an entitlement to free or subsidized insurance.

If wasn't like they couldn't get health care before but that wasn't good enough for Obama. The asshole had to make it an entitlement and doing so ran up the cost for everybody else.

Only a stupid and confused socialists would dismiss the cost as being trivial because they like the idea of those that earn money having to give to those that don't earn it..

Which included 10 million illegal citizens when the Census reported the "46 million figure". Now Hussein USED 46 million to get ACA passed.
After it was passed he said 10 million were not citizens...hence 36 million!

36 million to 22 million was DO what was suppose be done in the first place! ENROLL the 9 million kids covered by SCHIP and remaining adults in Medicaid!

That leaves 22 million... of which 18 million never wanted health insurance as they make over $50,000 but don't participate in employers' plans.
They are also under 34 and most are eligible for catastrophic insurance if they don't have it already!

THAT leaves truly less the 4 million that wanted and needed health insurance.

That's both utterly idiotic and flat out wrong, and group insurance doesn't work that way you idiot, not even when you buy an individual policy. It's a package deal, not a fucking line-item pick and choose. Damn you are dumb.

Hmmm, you're just plain wrong about that. Yeah, you can't pick and choose when you're in a group policy, but your employer can. That gives the insurance company a lot of incentive not to load it down with stuff most people aren't going to use, like coverage for sex change operations.

And employers would LOVE to spend less money for their contribution to your insurance than they're currently required to do by the mandated coverage. If insurance companies were allowed to offer me tailored coverage according to what I'm going to use, not only would I pay less for it, but so would my boss. You don't think he'd like to make that available?

And exactly HOW can any insurance company stay in business if they allowed their customers to only buy insurance for the coverage of ailments, sicknesses and needs that the customer has...without having other customers who don't have those medical needs to pay for it?

THEY'D GO BROKE, or your Insurance premium would HAVE TO GO UP in price, NOT go down in price....

this is the WHOLE REASON why GROUP policies and larger group policies are CHEAPER than any individual insurance plan not in a group.

The more people in a plan, even with much wider coverage, the CHEAPER it becomes.... compared to plans you can pick and choose your own individual needs, in general....

because there are so many people in them that won't use the medical insurance at all..... and they pay for those who do utilize the insurance.
