The point is that state jurists and elected officials are confirming, based on the evidence, that Trump in fact engaged in a treasonous insurrection and is not qualified to hold public office.
There’s not doubt that a partisan Supreme Court dominated by conservatives will again ignore precedent and rule in a manner requiring the states to return Trump to the ballot – but the fact that Trump engaged in a treasonous insurrection will remain.
