The Iron Law of power density and the myth of solar and wind energy .....

Which part of the oil becomes fertilizer?
The manufacturing process takes lots of energy, which comes from fossil fuels.

Soils rich in organic matter are able to break down ground rock fertilizers (called 'amendments') without being treated with sulfuric acid. Our soils are so poor in humus that these amendments must be treated with acid so they are available to the plants. Of course this takes rainfall for the process to occur. Too much rain and most is washed away or soaks into the subsoil and into the water table. This doesn't happen in humus-rich 'organic' soils.

No one said it can't be done, dummy. What we are saying is solar is inefficient.

For the same acreage that they are covering with those solar panels you could have a fossil fuel plant providing 1000 megawatts of energy.

Which is bigger? 1000 megawatts, or 846,000 watts?
Where will you get the fossil fuel to operate those plants when the Permian Basin peaks in 2 years????

how big you think the globe is? holy fk, we will never run out of fossil fuels.

The point is that 'traditional' agriculture puts all sorts of unnatural stuff into the soil, much with a direct link to fossil fuels.
Nitrogen fertilizer isn;t unnatural in fact even organic fertilizer is mostly nitrogen, potassium and phosphorous

The energy, not the oil. Tell her, I already knew.

What sacrifices? Just upgrade building insulation, heating and water heating systems, convert from oil to natural gas, make more hybrid vehicles, plant more trees, more organic agriculture, take care of your health, and conserve where possible. These are horizontal and upward lifestyle changes, not downward.
Organic agriculture is horribly inefficient. Crop yields are far below normal agriculture.

As stated earlier, we eat waaaay too much and waste too much for that to be a concern.
prove it! Obesity isn't from eating too much!!! Many factors fall into the reasons. You're a punk.

Note a fking link!!!! educate your dummass.

Nitrogen fixation is a chemical process by which molecular nitrogen (N
2), which has a strong triple covalent bond, is converted into ammonia (NH
3) or related nitrogenous compounds, typically in soil or aquatic systems[1] but also in industry.

Don’t see petroleum anywhere In this

Urea, phosphorus and sulfur are also separated in the refinery.
