If this isn't a "shrine", then what is it?

Here is a link to the number of times the Country of Iraq was listed in the Library and the number of exhibits dedicated to the Freeing of Iraq:

Link to Nowhere

You gotta check out the "Grounds" of the "Shrine". It's really something special.

The Official George W. Bush Presidential Librarium

A library. Go to one sometime.

You do know what's in a library, right?

6103.jpeg

Yes. I go to them frequently. You were the one who couldn't figure out that your picture was of a library when it said library on the front of the building. May I suggest going to one and reading these things they have there called books?

But not one so skewed and misleading bordering on the "supernatural".

What Might Be Missing From Bush's Presidential Library

Barack Obama leaves Iraq war out of speech to honour George W Bush | World news | guardian.co.uk

Obama failed to mention Iraq once during his speech at the opening of the George W Bush library and museum in Dallas on Thursday. Instead, he opted for kind words about the man he once castigated day after day on the campaign trail, to cheers from Democratic supporters. In Texas, Obama spoke of Bush's "generosity", "strength", "resolve" and "compassion".

Bush library dedication: Presidents put politics on hold | abc7.com

Mr. Obama once criticized Bush for his "failed policies" and "disastrous" handling of the economy, for expanding budget deficits, and for drawing the nation into war in Iraq.

But Thursday, he instead praised Bush for his strength after 9/11, compassion in fighting HIV/AIDS in Africa, bipartisanship in pursuing education reforms and restarting "an important conversation by speaking with the American people about our history as a nation of laws and a nation of immigrants."

The other presidents took a similar tone.

Clinton praised Bush for his efforts to combat AIDS in Africa, his work on global health and even for the paintings he's doing in retirement.

Carter praised Bush for his role in helping secure peace between North and South Sudan in 2005 and the "great contributions you've made to the most needy people on earth."

Confused because former presidents didn't get up and trash the worst president in history? For some "class" is confusing. Worse, I don't think it can be taught.

Confused because your comment with the search in it, didn't say what YOU thought they were saying.

It's a mistake to compare the two parties. There are no liberals in the Republican Party. They are not only not welcome, they wouldn't be tolerated

The Republican Party is 90% white with the majority being male. Those whites without college have moved towards the Republican Party.

The Democratic Party is a true coalition on the other hand, that has to work together. To assume everyone in the Democratic Party is a liberal is a mistake. There are the infamous "Blue Dogs", conservatives who belong to the Democratic Party. It is well known that some Muslims and some blacks within the Democratic Party don't like gay people. But that doesn't stop them from working together. Like it or not, the Democratic Party is a true coalition and the Republican Party is monolithic simply for the fact that party is 90% white. We already know how they tolerate gays compared to the Democratic Party.

You can't have a real debate unless you acknowledge the enormous differences between the two parties. Saying they are the same is like saying Bush and Obama are the same. If that were true, then why does the right fear and loathe Obama while enshrining George W. Bush? Clearly they are not the same.

Look at the US Chamber of Commerce. We know from the last election that they give to Republicans 10 to 1 over Democrats. If the two parties were the "same", they would give to the parties equally.

Like I said, to have an honest debate between the two parties, you have to recognize the vast differences. Studying the history of the two parties, especially the mass exodus in the mid 60's and who moved from party to party, explains much of why the two parties are so different today.

And I honestly don't understand why pointing out the differences between the two parties is such a "no-no". They are who they are.

A Closer Look at the Parties in 2012 | Pew Research Center for the People and the Press

100% bull shit.

I am a Classical Liberal, I am a Registered Republican. There are no Classical Liberals in the Democrat Party. They are progressives, not liberals.

Another in a long unbroken succession of rdean fail threads.

A classic liberal would be sick to his stomach in the nutball gaggle.

No person supporting low debt and small government - in sum, no real liberal would be in either of today's corporate herds.

Of course no one wants debt but the "small government" nonsense has gotten way out of hand. This isn't the "Wild West" where there was so much less to worry about. The world has changed. We need a smart government.

You need a government that knows what is going on in the world so we don't get blind sided with another 9/11..

You need a government smart enough to protect the country from cyber attacks.

You need a government that can manage the largest military in the world.

You need a government that can manage the most diverse population in the history of the world.

You need a government savvy enough they keep one step ahead of a greedy Wall Street so it won't bring down the economy again.

You need a government big enough to keep us leaders in technology and protect us from big corporations as well as protect those big corporations.

You need a government big enough to manage disasters and epidemics both natural and manmade.

You need a government big enough to build the Interstate highway system and NASA like Republicans did in the 1950's.

The reason government fails is because of following policies like those from Reagan and Bush. Twinkle down, foreign wars, dependence on foreign oil. This Republican Party fails at government to prove a point. A self fulfilling prophecy.

It's a mistake to compare the two parties. There are no liberals in the Republican Party. They are not only not welcome, they wouldn't be tolerated

There are liberals in the Republican party.
However, there are no progressives in the Republican party.

The Republican Party is 90% white with the majority being male. Those whites without college have moved towards the Republican Party.

If that were the case, then most whites wouldn't go to college.

You can't have a real debate unless you acknowledge the enormous differences between the two parties. Saying they are the same is like saying Bush and Obama are the same. If that were true, then why does the right fear and loathe Obama while enshrining George W. Bush? Clearly they are not the same.

Two parties of big government and power over the people rather than to serve the people.
No, they're exactly the same. Their methods are different, but you have more in common with the right then you think.

The former presidents were trying to make something from nothing. Look at Bush and his so called "Aids in Africa" policy. Anyone who tried to teach sex education or pass out condoms was cut from any funding. Republicans try so hard to keep people ignorant. They think they are being "moral" because they think they can keep people they know nothing about from having sex. That policy probably didn't decrease the number of new Aids cases. It only gave hypocritical right wingers a chance to proselytize. Something they do endlessly in this country.

In fact, I suspect the Aids in Africa project was about as successful as every other Bush foreign policy.

In fact, the ONLY pictures I could find of the Bush library with two books together, side by side, was at the concessions stand at the entrance where the public could purchase a fancy "souvenir book".

The reason I said "shrine" is because I used to live in Salt Lake City and I visited Temple Square many times and Bush Library looks like their shrine.

It took my data straight from PEW research. All you're saying is "it can't be true because I don't want it to be".

There are almost nothing but liberals in the Republican party

?

The difference between you and Republicans is a sliver. They propose growing government spending larger than any economic measure (GDP, inflation, ...), just a fraction of a percent less every year than Democrats do. Which you call starving people in the streets and they call fiscal responsibility. It's neither.

You and Republicans are like two houses identical in every way except the laundry room is painted a different shade of white.

Tell me what liberal means when you say it.

The common denominator for liberals is "American helping American" and for conservatives and Republicans, that translates into "socialism". Now, your kind may come up with some nonsense like, "But we give more to charity" which means nothing. Just giving away stuff you don't want anyway isn't "help". Digging around in the pantry and passing on an unopened 5 year old can of creamed corn isn't really "helping" anyone.

gee thats funny a few years ago when OC had that big fire.....there were Conservatives and Democrats helping each other survive the thing.....:eusa_think:.....Dean must be talking about Texas again.....or this is what goes on in his mind....

How did "No Liberals in the Republican Party" become "Bush Library"? There still are NO liberals in the Republican Party. It's 90% white and monolithic.

And no one can name a single Republican policy that helps the majority of Americans.

A Will Rogers joke even in the Thirties was, "I don't belong to any organized political party, I'm a Democrat.
One of the characteristics of liberalism is the acceptance of a wider range of behavior and beliefs and the Democratic party reflects that characteristic. Conservatives like the adherence to a narrower range of behavior and beliefs and the Republican party reflects that characteristic.
