Tim Kaine's Catholicism

Kaine is a politician, Pope Francis is a Pope.

Please tell us what a true Catholic is?

It's not Kaine, the simple fact he believes in SSM disqualifies him

The majority of Catholics in America support same sex marriage- and have for years.
Poll: majority of Catholics who attend Mass weekly support same-sex marriage, women’s ordination : News Headlines

Which means you are as always- at odds with the majority.
Changing Attitudes on Gay Marriage
Roughly six-in-ten Catholics (58%) now support same-sex marriage, as do nearly two-thirds of white mainline Protestants (64%).

Then they are not following Doctrine or the Bible. It is what it is

As a civil right, I'm sure he does, do you recall the separation of Church and State, or have you forgotten. Personally I'm quite sure he does not. One must put their religion behind them when looking at civil rights.

Frankly if we have a Muslim President you might want to go to Saudi Arabia to get away from Sharia Law, oops won't be able to, go to Israel, they hate Christians, Israel is now a jewish state, oh where oh where are you going to go.

Frankly if we have a Muslim President, unless you also change the Constitution so that there is no separation of Church and State- it won't matter.

Of course Muslims hate Christians exactly the same way Christians hate Muslims.

I don't hate all Muslims, I do despise radical muslims but I'm not too fond of radical Christians either

Well I would say your post rather proves the point I was making.

So you will be voting against Donald Trump- because he is not following the word of God in the Bible?

Tim Kaine's radical roots

Donald Trump grew up going to a church that didn't admit any black members.

What kind of Christianity is that?

Donald Trump Grew Up at a Church That's Now Full of Immigrants

“I attended Sunday school at the church for a number of years,” Trump wrote. “Going to church was an important part of our family life and the memories for me are still vivid—of a vibrant congregation and a lot of activities.

For much of the time when the Trumps were members, black families could attend, but not join—the church didn’t start integrating until the late 1950s and early ’60s.

Most of the country started integrating in the late 50s-early 60s.

Actually those polls come from Pew Research and you left out a small paragraph that reveals an important fact - that Black Protestants and Evangelical Protestants had lower percentage than either of the groups you just mentioned here. See for yourself:
Attitudes on same-sex marriage by religious affiliation
Among people who are religiously unaffiliated, a solid majority have supported same-sex marriage since 2001.

Roughly six-in-ten Catholics (58%) now support same-sex marriage, as do nearly two-thirds of white mainline Protestants (64%).

Support for same-sex marriage among black Protestants and white evangelical Protestants remains lower than it is among other religious groups. Both groups, however, have become somewhat more accepting of same-sex marriage over the last decade.

Changing Attitudes on Gay Marriage

Did you get that? Support for same-sex marriage among Black protestants and white evangelicals Protestants remain lower than it is among other religious groups. There is a reason for that. We're obeying what the written Word of God says rather than what the world has to say about it. God always has a remnant that will remain faithful to God and His Word.

Wow- speaking of 'leaving something out'- you ignore Catholics- which is the topic- and ignore every protestant who you don't agree with!

LOL

Every Christian thinks they are obeying the word of God- and that is why there are thousands of variations of Christians- from Catholics to Greek Orthodox to Southern Baptists to Jehovah's Witnesses to Westboro Baptist church- every single one of you thinking you are the sect actually listening to God......

Don't try to change the subject. You left out the paragraph which distinguished Black Protestants and White evangelical Christians as the group that supports same sex marriage the least. Changing the topic is just a sign of your inability to explain why you attempted to deceive the readers on this thread, Syriusly.

Just pointing out that Donald Trump's church- which he says was an important part of his life- officially denied membership to African Americans while he was going there.

Do I think that is particularly relevant? No.

Do I think it is as relevant as an attack on Kaine for being a Catholic?

Sure do.

What desperate BS.

This thread is an attack on Tim Kaine's Catholic faith- which of course you endorse- being the good Catholic hating evangelical you are.

I posted the poll which shows that Catholics- and incidentally protestant Americans attitudes are changing on gay marriage- and you go on attack mode. The article shows that among all Christians in America there has been a shift towards accepting same sex marriage- even among Evangelicals and African American protestants- but the rate is lower-
64% mainstream Protestants
58% Catholics
39% African American protestants
27% White evangelicals

Look at the chart- and see the transition since 2001- support for gay marriage has gone from 13% to 27% among white Evangelicals in 15 years- almost a percent a year. Another 20 years and you will catch up with the rest of the Christians.
