Why would Republicans nominate Trump in 2024?

From a purely partisan, pragmatic, and practical standpoint one fails to see why the GOP would nominate Trump again – go with someone who could serve two consecutive terms; go with someone more likely to win.

Regardless, Trump will declare he is going to run for the next four years.

If he doesn’t get the GOP nod, he will claim he was cheated
It would be interesting to see which is more compelling: Trump’s control over the GOP or the right’s lust for power.

Republicans won nationwide at the polls.......Trump lost

Yet, they still fear him
That fear will likely cost Republicans another presidential election.

The true problem is that Americans are far too divided to coexist at this point.

Democrats get elected and immediately work to undo all the last Republican president did......

Agreed. Democracy cannot long exist in a polity so evenly divided that we literally cannot tell for sure who won the election, or so I just read in a poli sci book. Democracy requires a, you know, actual MAJORITY, that implies general if not universal agreement. Democracy requires a good, whacking plurality of one opinion -- and wow, we sure ain't got that.

What we've got now is very like the Weimar Republic in the late 20s and early 30s. They were so seriously divided in Germany that Hindenburg ruled under an Emergency Decree for a few years. This didn't really work out well, starting in 1933 ---

Just sayin'.

If he wants to run and isn't nominated, the MAGA-hatters will stomp their fee, sulk, and stay home on election day.
It's still his party and we warned the lemmings that he'd trash it. He did. :cool-45:
From my perspective if Biden is the President the Republic or what's left of it is dead. Full Democracy is the rule of the land with Totalitarian overtones.

No, I am suggesting Trump will be dead and buried in 2024. Gheesh...

Why do you suggest that? Biden is exactly the age that Trump would be -- Biden may be older, come to think of it. Biden is not dead: in fact, he ran for president and many people think he may have won the election. So.....it is logical that Trump could also win the election when he's Biden's age, right?

You are misguided.

The last 4 years was NOT about Trump at it's core.
It was about just saying NO to anyone and anything that challenges the Left, especially the Establishment.
So in 2024 and forever going forward, ANY Republican will be demonized and crushed in the media. It will never stop with Trump.
If you believe the Left has the best path, this should give you warm fuzzies.

Not if he's dead.

We went with Dole, McCain and Romney. Vegas made a lot of money.

True...........still, Trump will have Secret Service protection if he leaves office, so don't get your hopes up. The Secret Service is pretty good considering they've protected both Obama and Trump this long. I never thought either of them would survive.

Nominating Trump in 2024 makes as much sense as nominating Hillary again.

Both showed they are capable of pulling 232 Electoral Votes

Trump will be leaving office in 2024. And even if he does get shafted by our media and deep state and loses this election, he will still be the leader of this country for the next four years. Biden is a buffoon. People don't give a fuck about anything Biden says. He's the puppet imposter.

The SS can't save a dying man.

Nothing is more important to Republicans than controlling the WH, perceived to be their ‘birthright.’

And just as important is controlling the WH for as long as possible – preferably eight years; much of the consternation at Trump’s loss this year is that Republicans were ‘cheated’ out of eight years of Republican rule.

But if elected in 2024, Trump would be able to serve only one four-year term – Republicans wouldn’t have the incumbent advantage going into the 2028 election year.
Trump has not lost this election yet

Secret Service can’t protect Trump from his next Cheeseburger
