Maybe. Bragg ant even obliged to have told Trump’s lawyers what “crimes” are being contemplated. My hunch (for a number of reasons) is that he is compelled to try his hand at a NY State tax law “crime.”

Can any of you name the alleged NY State crime that Trump allegedly committed?

I know it’s not murder. I know it’s not kidnapping. I know it’s not a felony drug sale case. But I’m not sure I get what crime you folks assume he allegedly committed. Do you?

Nope. NY does have a provision in its Criminal Procedure Law (one which the imbecile Fort Fun knew something about but couldn’t cite) which says the statute of limitations can be extended by up to five years when the suspect has moved out of the state and been continually out of the state for five years. That doesn’t apply to Trump since he hasn’t been continually absent.

I think it was also Fort Fun who made a surprisingly almost intelligent comment about the COVID tolling of the statute of limitations by former Gov. Cuomo. But that one is even sketchier since it is going to be challenged on the ground that it can’t alter the filing deadline.
