Abortion Doctor Trial: Coverage of Kermit Gosnell Case Sparks Debate

The debate over coverage of the case heated up this week with a USA Today column by Kirsten Powers, who argued that the "horror" of the Gosnell case should be front page news.

"A Lexis-Nexis search shows none of the news shows on the three major national television networks has mentioned the Gosnell trial in the last three months," Powers writes. "The Washington Post has not published original reporting on this during the trial and The New York Times saw fit to run one original story on A-17 on the trial's first day. They've been silent ever since, despite headline-worthy testimony."

Everybody knew it. Have you read the grand jury report? It's unbelievable. They were horrified. They submitted a scathing condemnation of the entire industry, including the state's department of health (where heads did in fact roll...quietly, unreported by the baby killing, criminal shielding media)...and the staff at nearby hospitals, who treated his victims for YEARS but never reported. Which puts the lie to the left's insistence that we have *good* numbers on abortion deaths/injuries (but then, we already knew that). The few reports that did make it through were not acted upon. He would still be doing his thing, if the feds hadn't conducted a DRUG RAID. THOSE guys were so horrified and sickened that there was no way they (the abortion community, the state health department, the medical community) could continue to cover for the butcher, without getting prosecuted as well. There may yet be prosecutions of some of those who knew, and did nothing. There definitely should be.
