Capitalism or Communism? Is communism really that horrible?

We the People in a social compact created the Constitution, LL and tooalive.

You can't change it. If you violate it, face the consequences.

What does that have to do with anything?

We're saying how democracies are terrible. It's essentially a mob rule; where the 51% have complete control over the 49%.

Our nation was set up to be a Republic, where we are governed by law. There is no mob rule. Each individual has inherent rights and the government's simple purpose is to defend those rights for every individual.

Although yes, if you violate someone's rights you would face the consequences.

Yes!

Sure is. Maybe Nazi Germany or a nation with an unregulated economy would approach communism.

Nazi Germany was socialist, and had a very regulated economy.

A nation with an unregulated economy would first approach socialism, as it's the first step toward communism. At least that's how your buddy Marx said it would be.

since the election there has been an uptick on the defense of socialism, and communism, and an attack on our second amendment by the left !! and they will get bolder !!

Our nation is what our Congress and SCOTUS says it is. That is the way our constitutional representative republic works with protected minority rights.

Actually the silly ultra right and libertarian wacks have been making straw man attacks against "communism" and "socialism" with the hope of protecting extended gun rights.

Of COURSE communism sucks, like ALL totalitarian isms. But non Pub Dupe,Cold War Dinosaur, Ugly Americans know socialism is ALWAYS democratic, simply well regulated capitalism with a fair safety net.

But carry on with the brainwashed bullshytte, chumps.

Hmm.. Lets see,

Socialism -

1 a: any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods

2 a: a system of society or group living in which there is no private property
2 b: a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state

3 a: a stage of society in Marxist theory transitional between capitalism and communism and distinguished by unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work done

Yup. Socialism definitely sounds like a democratic, well regulated version of capitalism. :eusa_eh:

I supposed you could also call it state-capitalism; since the state profits from the labor of the people, pockets most of it, and lets the people "share" the rest.

Where do you get these ridiculously simplistic definitions?

"Now we're all socialists"- P.M. of Finland, when O-Care was passed...

*Sigh*

Google the word "socialism."

Tell me what you find. You may have given it a very noble, humanistic meaning based on what you want it to mean, or because of your disdain for it's capitalist alternative.

But "socialism" is far from democratic, noble or even moral. You can't give everybody everything without an oppressive government that takes from those that have.

Impossible. Communism is the total regulation of the economy by the state.

Pay attention, please.

Of course it's possible We are talking about the perceived horrors of a national life: fascism, unregulated economy, communism, libertarianism.

Socialism, though, often called social democracy now so as to not madden the dinos, is the future, simply fair and intelligent capitalism.Which we will have in 2014 thank god. lol

If you want a social democracy, try to be open and honest: there are not enough rich people to pay for it.

I guess you mean european-style social democracy. I tell you a couple of necessary conditions to have a social democracy:

1) A 20-25% national VAT. Unlike the sales tax, the VAT is collected at each stage of the economy.

2) Personal income tax rates of 20-30% on the lower and middle class.

What are your qualifications to make such statements? But first I think you better define "socialism" and "social democracy", then give us examples of how they apply to the USA.

You mean to tell us that the "perceived horrors" were different than the "real horrors" of life under communism? :eusa_eh:

You mean then that fascist, communist, and libertarian nations would be horrific for the citizens.
