A signature can be rendered invalid for any number of reasons. What matters is the Judge called the signatures invalid and there the signatures were not counted.

And the poor Green Party became aware of these efforts too late in the game to hedge against them. Stapleton a republican who got the signatures rejected those requests, saying they were filed after a deadline. District Judge James Reynolds granted the signature removal requests, saying there was no such deadline in state law. The Montana Supreme Court upheld Reynolds' ruling Wednesday. Imagine that a repub lied.

If Repubs were truthful then they would have identified themselves as repubs before asking for a signature.

Still over 500 people asked that their names be removed and the republicans said no we won't do it.
