It’s way to early to be making those claims. If you are going to dismiss people before debate and discussions can even take place then you are basically subscribing to the corrupt two party system that is polarized into stagnation and running on money and greed. Something needs to break the cycle so give a little breathing room when third party candidates pop up... they may just catch fire.

The Duopoly ensures that no third party can possibly break its hold. That's because of the WTA Electrical College. As some wag noted above, most voters vote for the lesser of two weevils, meaning they vote not FOR one but AGAINST another. And the Duopoly makes sure that's all we get.

Ross Perot pulled close to 20% of the popular vote in '92, got zero Electrical Votes. That's because in the bullshit WTA-EC system everybody in a close-race state knows they'd better vote against the Red or against the Blue, otherwise the Blue or the Red might get in. Therefore the 3P has no shot. And in the rest of the states, the locked ones, there's no point in anybody voting at all --- the state is going Red or going Blue regardless what they do. They can vote Red, they can vote Blue, they can vote 3P, or they can stay home and bake cookies and all four produce exactly the same result with the exception that the fourth option produces cookies.

That's also why we have an abysmally low voter turnout, because millions of us figure, what's the point.

There's literally no way a 3P can crack through that. The strategy of a 3P whether it's a Perot or a Wallace or an Anderson, is not to come out with a majority of EC votes but simply to deny both the Red and the Blue a majority, thereby tossing the election into the House of Reps, where anything can happen. In other words the only chance a 3P has is to literally undermine the election itself.

Until people accept that the choice from either major party are pieces of shit and vote in mass for a 3rd party, we will never have good choices. We need an election or two where people just say "fuck it, no longer voting the lesser of two evils" and show that someone outside the two party paradigm can get significant votes.

It just feels impossible at this point. Two party politics is too deeply entrenched, and Americans are too stupid and poorly educated to see how bad it is for them. Both major parties have an interest in keeping it that way.

He has said that he won’t allow himself to be a spoiler for the election so why not hear him out and see what happens? There is a lot of time and a long process before the primaries are over so like I said before it is way too soon to muffle out his voice at this point.

In House and Senate races I usually vote Republican but in presidential races I've gone with the Democrat 3 times, twice Republican, and 7 times for a random choice to signify neither major party. Beginning with last year's Senate race where I didn't care for either candidate I started to allow my wife to make the pick for any race in which I have no preference. She's a Democrat.

Haven't begun to look at the 2020 race yet. Way too early, by at least a year.

Unless you are smoking something, and I think you are not————> we can elect anyone we choose as President, and they are gonna screw him/her, if they aren’t in the club.

At this point in time, if the Republicans aren’t in control, who is? Now change Republicans to Democrats and answer the same question.

If you, I, we, only had to worry about 1 other entity to have power, and if we lost, still keep a lot of power, we would go along with this also.

I can’t say Perot would have been a good President, because I can not prove a supposition that never happened. I can logically assume that NAFTA was DOA on his Presidential desk. Ross Perot May not have been a good President, but he did tell us the truth, or his perception of what he believed if politicians had their way.

I know you aren’t fond of Trump, but his stance is a throw back to Perot. Maybe we are actually seeing what a Perot Presidency would have been like, 2 decades later with a lot more bluster.

I’d love to see is end up with a solid 4 person race for Prez every 4 years. One where each candidate is getting double digit votes. That would be a much healthier system then the dualopoly we have now
