All god's laws work the same way. You violate them, certain things happen. Some good, some bad. Just perhaps not as obvious. No that's gravity...not morals. Lol

Yes, why not. Worked for them. Perfectly moral at the time. And you think that's perfect?
In your opinion only. Which is wrongAll god's laws work the same way. You violate them, certain things happen. Some good, some bad. Just perhaps not as obvious.
Talk to a Buddhist...All god's laws work the same way. You violate them, certain things happen. Some good, some bad. Just perhaps not as obvious.
It might be OK for some. In Jesus' day it was a last resort for people or families who couldn't pay their debt. it was better than being killed or tortured over the debt. It was a way for their families to stay alive and fed. There is no good concept of slavery.
Yes they wereTorah tried to mitigate with rules on how to treat a slave, but slaves acquired by conquering anther nation were still slaves.
Most slaves were not debtorsIt might be OK for some. In Jesus' day it was a last resort for people or families who couldn't pay their debt. it was better than being killed or tortured over the debt. It was a way for their families to stay alive and fed.
Prove my statement which you call an opinion is wrong. In your opinion only. Which is wrong
In the time of Jesus, following Torah, that was a fixed term form if indentured servitude. Not the same as slavery of the conquered people. And while moral at the time, it no longer is.It might be OK for some. So you agree some were, then? Most slaves were not debtors
Exactly my point. Your post must be for Vegas. He disagrees with that.In the time of Jesus, following Torah, that was a fixed term form if indentured servitude. Not the same as slavery of the conquered people. And while moral at the time, it no longer is.
You made the claim. I dont have to prove it wrong you have to prove it rightProve my statement which you call an opinion is wrong.
So you agree most were not?So you agree some were, then?
Morality evolves. Both form of slavery in your perfect Jesus' time were moral then. It no longer is. And the shift in that morality post dates Jesus by a wide margin.Exactly my point. Your post must be for Vegas. He disagrees with that.
I proved it correct by giving examples. You ignored the examples and repeated the same claim, that I was incorrect. Now the burden is on you.You made the claim. I dont have to prove it wrong you have to prove it right
No, 'slavery' does not demonstrate evolution of morality. It's a difference in the acts that we call slavery.Morality evolves. Both form of slavery in your perfect Jesus' time were moral then. It no longer is. And the shift in that morality post dates Jesus by a wide margin.
You gave zero examples of proof or even evidenceI proved it correct by giving examples. You ignored the examples and repeated the same claim, that I was incorrect. Now the burden is on you.
You ridiculed the notion of 'good' slavery. I gave examples of some that were not that bad, considering the alternative. Now you're changing the subject. So you agree most were not?
The concept of owning a human being to do as you wish was moral. It no longer is. Or are you arguing that owning another person is still a moral act today? No, 'slavery' does not demonstrate evolution of morality. It's a difference in the acts that we call slavery.
They were not good. You ridiculed the notion of 'good' slavery. I gave examples of some that were not bad. Now you're changing the subject.
