Our New Speaker Thinks the Earth is 6,000 Years Old

Al Gore did not predict Ellis Island would be under water by 2003.

The USA is losing $200 billion per year in wildfires, flooding and massive numbers of severe weather events. There’s a “storm of the century” ever 5 years.

Insurance company are leaving Florida. And if you can’t get insurance, you can’t get a mortgage.

You truly are an economic moron. Investment in infrastructure is not a “government handout”.

Green manufacturing and investment has grown throughout the United States over the past 40 years, even though the government has refused to acknowledge its necessity and refused to contribute.

Americans would rather blow things up in overseas wars than invest in the American people at home.
An electric vehicle isn't infrastructure, moron.

And the govt has pissed away billions on handouts to so-called "green energy" companies. Your ignorance on this is astounding.

When have I ever claimed the earth is flat?

NASA has been overtaken by the left just as the rest of the Federal Executive bureaucracy has.

That opinion is backed up by tallies of political donations made by the people who make up said bureaucracy.
Just showing you how conservative mantras about how everyone is biased and everything is a conspiracy can be applied to factual information like whether the earth is round or not.

Conservatives have created a cognitive structure where they don’t have to believe ANYTHING they don’t want to believe.

Another pathetic link attempt to avoid arguing points with the person in front of you.

Progs have always believed in Orwellian groupthink. If the Party says women can have penises, it must be true.

Are the people on this forum not real? Maybe they’re all Feds!
How many do you have over for dinner on a Saturday evening? Seriously, if you think you're "meeting" real people on here, I have a rainbow farting unicorn in my back yard I'll sell you cheap.

Well, this is reassuring.

The new Speaker appears to believe that the Earth is 6,000 years old.

Before arriving in Washington less than a decade ago, House Speaker Mike Johnson, a deeply religious Christian, was a legal crusader associated with a fringe evangelical movement called “young Earth creationism,” based on a literal reading of the Bible’s Book of Genesis that posits the Earth is only several thousand years old.
In the mere hours since Johnson was elected speaker Wednesday, he hadn’t had to address his views on creationism and evolution. But his close ties to a leader of the creationist movement and his past legal work — on behalf of the Ark Encounter creationist theme park, where children can learn that dinosaurs were passengers on Noah’s Ark — seem to suggest that he’s also personally aligned with these beliefs.

“The Ark Encounter is one way to bring people to this recognition of the truth, that what we read in the Bible are actual historical events,” Johnson said in a 2021 interview with Ark Encounter founder Ken Ham while guest-hosting the radio showof Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, an evangelical activist group.

Lots of people in congress have strange and insane beliefs such as the earth is flat, the moon is artificial and strangest of all Biden is a great president

No, they locked people up defying court orders to stop destroying public property, and they returned the money these people illegally raised, to the people who donated it to them.

See how stupid you are for believing that it had anything to do with the Prime Minister. Or that the government "took their money". In Canada, con artists aren't allowed to keep the proceeds of their crimes.
Pure lies.

By definition, a theory is not a fact. But man made climate change isn't a "theory", and it's supported by strong evidence. Climate change deniers are bought and paid for by oil producers, and there is no data backing up their claims. Their science is no better than the science bought and paid for by the tobacco industry, that told you cigarettes don't harm humans. Which you probably believed too.

"Flat earth can be disproven by actual verifiable data, circumnavigation, orbital photography."

None of which existed at the time of Gallileo. The idea that the Earth was round, was simply a theory that a few crackpot scientists came up with. And establish "facts" were taken from the "experts" in the Catholic Church, who told them that the Earth was flat, and it's the centre of the Universe - neither of which they they had any actual evidence of.
MMGW is a sham, and has been exposed as a sham for decades.

Tallies of political donations is a pretty terrible way to measure the political leanings of an organization given how few people make contributions. You’re making assumptions of a group based on the characteristics on a nonrandom tiny sample.

That being said, I wouldn’t be surprised if NASA is full of liberals, but that’s mostly because conservatism has entrenched themselves in anti-intellectualism. I do think Trump had a lot of support in NASA because he was aggressive in pushing manned missions, but it was all talk and no action.

The conservative reply to MMGW has shifted in the last few decades from:

1. the earth isn’t warming.
2. okay the earth is warming but it’ll start cooling soon
3. okay it’s not cooling soon but it’s not man made
4. okay it’s man made but there’s nothing we can do about it anymore because it’s too late.

It's a pretty good indication actually, and not that tiny.

Again, Women having penises in intellectualism? Lowering the plebes standard of living due to AGW is intellectualism?

Foisting non mature technology on people via law is smart?
