Trump Vow: I'll Run From Prison If Convicted

History has shown a President gets credit or blame for gas prices and the stock market regardless of his policies.
Remember that when a Democrat President is in office an Wall Street is declining and energy prices are rising. If you want to take the credit, you’ve got to accept the blame. Then again, Democrats feel entitled to take credit and quick to blame.

Former President Donald Trump on Friday promised that if he is convicted of a crime and sentenced to prison, he will continue to run for president.

John Fredericks, the host of a pro-Trump talk show, asked the 2024 candidate whether a conviction resulting in a prison sentence would “stop” his bid for a second term.

“Not at all. There’s nothing in the Constitution to say that it could,” Trump replied. “Even the radical left crazies are saying, ‘No, that wouldn’t stop!’ And it wouldn’t stop me either.”

Legally speaking, Trump is correct. The most famous example of an incarcerated person running for president is Socialist Party nominee Eugene V. Debs. Debs received nearly 1 million votes in 1920 while he was imprisoned for his opposition to World War I.

It is unclear what would happen if Trump won while incarcerated, however, since there is no precedent for that occurring in a major federal election. Some scholars have suggested that he could pardon himself immediately upon taking office.

Wow, wouldn't that be something - a convicted criminal running for president. I can't imagine what the rest of the world must think of us. I think that Trump must know that he will be convicted. The founding fathers never anticipated a Donald Trump. What do you think?
Trump is like Nixon on steroids

One of his Republican nomination competitors said it best...

Trump is no longer running for the good of the Republic...

Trump is running to stay out of jail...

He will not succeed.

I don't have a clue as to what you just said?
It was about President Trump., Billo. He tells the truth. It's frequently harsh, because the truth can be unpleasant in politics when someone wants something for nothing. I ran an impossible business, but it did good for the poor in the community, it did good for wounded soldiers who were stationed in various places around the Middle East in the 90s, and we made nap pads for the town handicapped children of single parent homes. It was retail, we treated customers as well as possible, and we were under constant pressure from a competitor who beat himself up trying to put us out of business with sundry dirty tricks designed to sink our work which was more than dry goods, we worked to help those who needed help. We sent handmade quilts to our state's senators and only Representative in Congress to give them to the wounded soldiers who took the harshest wounds. We never lied, and we promptly gave people money back if they had any problem with retail merchandise we offered. Our goal was to offer small town people top quality fabrics, threads, and creative supplies as if they lived in the largest town in the world. Truth and doing right was our best success, and small town people liked the idea of giving wounded soldiers a patriotic quilt for their troubles. We had wonderful representatives in Washington who loved visiting our wounded soldiers at Walter Reed hospital, and we needed friends because small towns frequently can't support the kind of business we furnished. I didn't care if I didn't make a profit, but fortunately, we broke even most years. I had wonderful helpers in the shop, and they liked honesty and dependability we furnished. That's how I knew President Trump was honest. Except he could afford the best helpers, and he took their advice. That's why business people like Trump. The truth isn't always pretty, and he ran an efficient shop. That's why I like President Trump. He never let his fame get in the way of doing the right thing with or without approval of his rivals. His word is sterling. His achievements are grounded in doing special things for other businesses who needed good hotels for their conventions. Trump made sure the food was good in the hotel restaurants, rooms were idyllic, and people could use his faciities for the best conventions that boosted their knowledge and their business improvements. Excellence often frequently takes 80 hour weeks of work for the chief. My teachers in schools I attended when growing up pushed honesty, integrity, and hard work. I owe all I accomplished to the best parents in the world, and taking full advice from the excellent teachers I had throughout school and university years. I left the shop to the excellent workers who loved what we did for the community. I know exactly what it takes to offer excellence to the public. President Trump exceeded the excellence mark when his efforts made his father's business a super success. He demands excellence from his people, and his clients became enthusiastic friends. It doesn't get better than that in making your life count for others. And that's why I support Trump. He did his job with strength, not bullying, and he got cooperation from hostile people overseas. He just followed his habits of honesty, integrity, and thoughtfulness for others. He was working on peace in the Middle East, but the Democrats didn't want him to be the one to bring about world peace. That's why there's a lot of double to the rear march in his rivals' failure to rival his excellence in making people rise to their best efforts. It's called superior leadership. He has it. He doesn't deserve the jealous lies hurled at him by jealous rivals. I will always support him for shooting for excellence. He doesn't lie. His focus is making other people great, and he's good at it.

He is a lying sack of $hit and his traitorous behaviors on January 6, 2021, have rendered him un-electable. Believe it.

Things don't look good for Trump.
If a picture is a narrative, it might seem that way. Trump wins on account of his honesty, his integrity, and his many, many wonderful accomplishments not only in the business world, but also in the Oval Office. He expects excellence from his staff, and when they meet his challenges with hard work and determination, they catch on to what he requires of them. He encourages people to be better than they are, and everyone wins that way.

Is there a psychiatrist in the house? :laughing0301:
You can go to the Emergency Room at the nearest hospital, if you're having really bad problems, Mr. Kondor3. Best wishes. I'm sorry the truth is hurting you, but might as well get over all of what's going down this upcoming week. I'm here for ya and so are other USMB membes who care about you. :huddle:

Breaking it to you gently is the best medicine, sugar ...

Some interesting food for thought for Trump supporters.

I don't think they allow sharpies in the joint so he wouldn't be able to sign his own pardon.

The Biden Crime Family planned it that way. Soros money can corrupt some people. Or did Hillary corrupt Soros? She's an expert at destroying reality in her victim and inserting her dirty trick world with all its poisoned wells. Gosh, her followers are gullible. First, they believe her lies. Then Soros pays the press to spread them. She sure made a rat outta him.
