I owned my own business for 27 years after spending my first working years in corporate America working for someone else. I walked out on the company without notice. I found another job 2 weeks later. The first company went under(something I prayed for and CELEBRATED because of how they mistreated and hated their employees). Anyway, I started my own business. I ran it nicely for 27 years before handing it off to my youngest son. I voted GOP every time in my life. Now I WILL NOT VOTE for them. Nor will I cast a vote for the deems. I simply refuse to vote. Why anyone will simply vote for a party who wants to give everything away for free or a party who hates the middle class worker or poor worker I'll never know. According to my Christian principles, I am supposed to help the less fortunate. The current GOP, while they call themselves Christians, are far from it. Nor do I believe in the deems. I do believe in hard work. I do believe in my creator. I believe the system is skewed towards those with the big money. And I don't agree that they should have one more ounce of influence than I have. And not ONE, not one of you can argue against anything I have just stated. Try it.

I've only once voted Democratic. That was at the personal behest of Bill Buckley. He asked us conservatives in Connecticut to vote for Democrat Joe Lieberman for US Senate. The Republican incumbent, Lowell Weicker, was a flaming liberal and Buckley wanted him gone. So we ejected him.

Then the idiot voters elected Weicker as governor two years later, whereupon he promptly instituted a state sales tax for the first time, and it was the highest sales tax in the country.

Goldfish. A lot of people have memories like that of a goldfish. I see a lot of that here, too.

There are many reasons people vote Democratic. If they don't like guns, they are going to vote Democratic. If they are pro-choice, they are going to vote Democratic. If they think the problems of income inequality or our humongous debt can be solved by raising taxes, they are going to vote Democratic. And sometimes people vote Democratic as a vote against the GOP, as they did in large numbers in 2006 and 2008.
