Not that this is new news to anyone, but, I was embarrassed about it the other day....

Hubby and I were having a late night snack at Denny's and this woman next to us wanted the "Pumpkin Pancakes" ...... the very sweet/polite waiter (who was our waiter also, and one of the best we have had) - told her they ran out.

She about had a fit. Told him that was the only reason the came there and went on and on about it. He even went back to double check for her (knowing they were out) and told her he was sorry etc. yet she continued to complain....

I mean really? A fit over Pumpkin Pancakes? It's a very sad statement about our country.....

Entitlement. The Democrat-run "public education system" fosters a sense of entitlement.

We've become a terribly narcissistic society. If we don't get want we want, we just have to get angry.

Pumpkin pancakes do sound pretty freakin' good though!
.

IHOP has them, send her there.
By the way was she also fatter than hell ?

that is pretty ironic because there is an IHOP right next door from Denny's and I mean walking distance....
I would have mentioned it had I known. She also had this very odd smelling perfume, smelled more like a cleaning agent then a perfume. Anyway.....

She was overweight. Her husband even suggested they leave. I wish they had.

I'm a French toast person myself. Although, I did get the buttermilk pancakes that night.
I may have to try the pumpkin ones next time (if the still have them or don't run out.....) - if it made her that angry they must be pretty good....

My guess is she was a fat cow. Seen it a million times, they are angry and bitter with little else going on but to belittle people around them to feel better about themselves, since improving themselves is off the table. I probably would have used my free speech too and told her I didn't come to Denny's to hear her juvenile crap.

Mostly I felt bad for the waiter. He was very sweet and accommodating.
He gave us a free Hot Fudge Sundae too ;)

There's no way I would have ever lasted over a day waiting tables. Some people go to restaurants to feel like royalty, with all the expectations of treating people like servants. I'm sure many people have had their plates blessed with a little extra dna too.

Would you throw a fit over not getting your pancakes?

If not then why do you measure the rest of us by the actions of this one person?

Why did you get a "free" hot fudge sundae? Why is it ok for you to mooch but a person gets upset because they don't have what is advertised and that condemns all Americans? What the hell.

Point, nothing is free, and the person should not have gotten as mad as you relate.

The op laughingly tars an entire nation of more than 300,000,000 people based on the bad behavior of one person.

is it really odd to expect a place to have the products they advertise?

they should not run out (granted) but the woman was being a bit over the top. Complain to the manager (quietly) and leave or stay an order something else. Mistakes happen. But she was being ridiculous.

One example. Are you saying the US is not a Spoiled Nation?
