What’s the most just okay movie you’ve ever watched?

My favorite DeNiro flick was 'Ronin'...but honestly he's hard to watch now...politics and all.
I thought Ronin was alright. I think Tax Cab was also good, too! I didn't start watching any of Robert Deniro movies until later in 2000's. That was when Casino came out (2009?)...
Then he did a few movies with Al Pachino...including The Godfather sage and others late in 2000's.

"The Hunt for Red October was actually pretty good IMO.
Yes, the late Sean Connery! He was brilliant!
+1

Even in bad movies he was still worth watching.

The only Connery movie I didn't like that I can remember was 'The Great Train Robbery'...

... Connery made not-so-good movies like 'League of Extraordinary Gentleman' palatable.

If you want to see an obscure Connery sci-fi flick...Try 'Outland'...

Clint Eastwood.
I am huge fan of Clint Eastwood... :) Name any movie and it's a huge hit (to me, at least).
From Western to Action!
Clint is a far better director! The Outlaw Josey Wails my favorite movie he acted in.
Have you seen 'Unforgiven'?

I'll watch an Eastwood western at the drop of a hat. 'Foxfire', 'The Eiger Sanction', 'In the Line of Fire'... were pretty good too.

I think he did a movie called 'Blood Works' of something that was so-so...and I skipped 'Bridges of Madison County' and the Dirty Harry films...but aside from that...one of the best all time actors.

I saw Unforgiven...but it was long time ago. Madison County was a good movie. I am more of a Dirty Harry.

I just started rewatching The French Connection. I love how movies were made back in those days.

The Da Vinci Code

Never saw it, but I love Dan Brown. Read all of his books.

If you like the books, skip the movies.

I started both with books...before the movies ever came out.

Tom Hanks is Robert Langdon like Tom Cruise is Jack Reacher. Which is to say, he's not.

Not to mention the fact that they butchered the books...
Exactly how I felt about 'Patriot Games' and 'Clear and Present Danger"...but "The Hunt for Red October was actually pretty good IMO.
Red October was good because they didn't build the story around a big name actor, they kept fairly close to the book. Of course Red October was an unusual Clancy book because it only had one plot line. Most Clancy novels had multiple plotlines which made them hard to turn into movies.

The last time I went to an actual movie theater to see a really good movie, was back in early 1990's. I saw The Godfather III. It was alright. But I thought The Godfather II was much better.

The Godfather Part II is the only movie ever to win the Academy Award for Best Picture as a sequel to a film which also won the Academy Award for Best Picture...

I spent 20 years as a Sonar Technician in the Navy.

While there were some very obvious "head shakers", the movie was, for the most part, pretty fuckin' accurate...

I'm pretty sure you'll be surprised when 'Casino' was released.

If I remember correctly I rented it on VHS...

Can't imagine how they would have butchered Red Storm Rising.

Now I only read the books after seeing the movie...never the other way around.

I should have learned my lesson after Clive Cussler's Raise the Titanic movie-ization debacle. Guess I'm a glutton for punishment...

I was surprised how close "Hunger Games" and Harry Potter films stayed to the source material. If Hollyweird did that more often I think we'd be treated to better movies.

Sheesh, you still have VHS? Lol
I still have cassettes and 8-track tapes. Nothing special...oh, I even still have some vinyl records, too! Including Led Zepplin and Beatles.
Nah...got rid of them when we moved to the new house. That was 10 years ago.

But I was pretty sure I watched 'Casino' before 'Titanic'...both on VHS.

Easy to remember, because they needed two tapes for each due to length of the movies. 'Heat' also, with Val Kilmer and DiNero.

I liked Unforgiven, didn't love it.....Outlaw Jose Wales is better.

What about the hatchet job they gave Sahara? Matthew McConaughey as Dirk Pitt? I don't fucking think so... William H. Macy as Admiral Sandecker? Did they even read the books? At least Raise the Titanic gave us Jason Robards as Sandecker.
