The top 1% don't pay taxes, "only little people pay taxes". Look at how the top 1% has done over time:
For the record, the top tax rate should not have had the tax cut. The middle class is way behind the top 1%-10%.
The top tax rate should have had a larger rate cut. The top 1% of income earners pay at least 35% of all federal income taxes, and this is not to mention the state and local property taxes they pay (and the fact that they got hit the hardest by the $10K cap on state and local taxes).
The middle class will always be "way behind" the top 1% because the top 1% have far more capital to invest and earn huge sums of money just from the interest that they earn on their investments and savings.
