They then had to convince a Federal Judge that if notified--Manafort would have destroyed evidence, so they picked his lock in the early mornings hours, came in, and the only time Manafort was notified they were there was when they knocked on his bedroom door.

The next thing is Mueller has pulled a fast one on Trump & Manafort. Trump has continually stated he'll just pardon everyone, but he can't if Manafort is prosecuted out of New York State for crimes committed. So Mueller has added the State Attorney General of New York to prosecute Paul Manafort, and Trump can't pardon him. So this puts pressure on Paul Manafort to come clean and make a deal for outing others involved.

The cooperation is the latest indication that the federal probe into President Donald Trump’s former campaign chairman is intensifying. It also could potentially provide Mueller with additional leverage to get Manafort to cooperate in the larger investigation into Trump’s campaign, as Trump does not have pardon power over state crimes.

The judge ordered not only a wiretap but permitted the Feds to break into Manafort's home because there was strong evidence" a crime was committed and it would be likely he'd try to destroy necessary evidence."
