Expanded background checks fails in Senate

What would have prevented Newtown from being worse is the Assault Weapons Ban, which the shooter's mother would never have been able to purchase, as well as not being able to purchase 30-round clips.

That lady would have had a much more difficult time buying that stuff, and if you're a pro-gun moron who's kids take your guns all the time in order to shoot innocent people for fun, imagine how many more kids could've escaped if that piece of shit was forced to reload every 10 rounds instead of every 30.

Wrong, and you can not provide anything but opinion pieces to support that. None would have escaped considering the scum had 5 minutes to do his shooting.

I imagine you have never dropped and inserted an AR15 magazine.

So 10 round magazines are just as efficient as 30 round magazines? Does that mean all the people who said that large capacity magazines were needed for home defense are full of shit?

Yes, according to you, it does.

So all that was accomplished today is that the gun nuts got to preserve the ability of felons and crazy people to legally dodge background checks.

The company that manufactures Bushmaster AR-15's that was used in Connecticutt is selling the business under public pressure. Unlike our senators, they recognize the value of following the will of the the people.

10rd magazines < 30rds.

It is why I was speaking to the time to swap mags being pretty quick.

But still have to change at a minimum two 10s to get a 30 = not as efficient

What an assbite.

Criminals won't obey "new" laws any more than the obey the old ones.

...so gun manufacturers can be assured of selling as many guns as people want, regardless of who those people are.

This is the type of lie that prevented the measure from passing today.

A gun from a gun manufacturer has to go to an FFL and background check already by Federal law.

Both of who are already illegal persons to own, buy, possess, sell to or reside in the same domicile as one by Federal law.

And whoever buys Bushmaster will stop manufacturing the rifle?

No their not.
One equity group who owns stock in the company is selling off their stocks..

The private-equity group Cerberus Capital Management said Tuesday it will sell its controlling stake in Freedom Group International, the maker of Bushmaster rifles.

Nope, but with any kind of luck, they will be under public pressure as well.
Also, I find it amsuing that liberals are always accused of hysteria by not acknowleding the difference between a semi-automatic rifle and an assault rifle. Where to you think this confusion begins? I'll give you a hint: What does the "AR" in AR-15 stand for? Liberals did not name the AR-15. Gun manufacturers did.
