How can Trump be charged federally in a state court?

The cover up is only a crime is someone is being defrauded.

Who is being defrauded?

Falsification of financial business records is fraud.

Voters due to inaccurate information because of the illegal campaign finance law violations to hide information from the public. This was one of the charges against Cohen, and this is what the prosecutors will attempt to show the jury as the basis of the First Degree (felony) charge.

And very likely New York State Taxpayers since the payments were made by the Trump Organization CFO (Allen Weisselberg [Sp?]) and expensed as "legal fees". Legal fees are a tax deductible items, lowering profit, meaning less tax. Tax fraud.

What part of the FEC said that the Stormy payments were NOT a crime don't you understand?
WTF?
The payments became a crime, when Trump made false entries of what the payments were for, in his business records
If Cohen signed a plea deal that included Stormy, that's on him, he's a dumb lawyer.
read this
Jonathan Turley is the Shapiro professor of public interest law at George Washington University and a practicing criminal defense attorney. He is a Fox News contributor.

Why didn't Turley offer his services to Trump?

Not that one. That's a misdemeanor. What's the unspecified crime that makes it a felony?

The aid and concealment of other crimes is in the Statement of Facts and is linked to the Cohen campaign finance and election law violations. The crimes are "unspecified", they were charged and a conviction obtained.

You realize the FEC looked at this and found nothing...right?

So how are you asserting voters were defrauded (but just in New York...somehow) when the FEC and other judges looked at this and dismissed it?

But again no less than the FEC looked at this and found NO VIOLATION.

Wow

Congratulations, you're a pretzel.

Sigh…we have been over this a dozen times.

The crimes that put Cohen in jail

I find it odd how you phrase that. Instead of just coming out and saying “campaign finance
Violations”, you say “the crime that put cohen in jail”.

It’s just an observation, but, why do you phrase it like that rather than just come out and say it.

I'm sorry you're of such low intelligence that all you can lob in response to intelligent claims are 7th grade insults.
Ya know who agrees with your opinion that we have too many laws (and your strange fascination with exposed asses)?

Folks in prison

Because I HAVE said it repeatedly and you’re getting tiresome

I don’t know, even vox is saying (cnn said this as well) that they aren’t sure if Bragg can use a federal crime to upgrade a state crime.

Which is a very valid legal point and one can expect the FDOTUS legal team to make that argument as part of a Motion to Dismiss, they can make the motion citing law and precedent to support that position. The prosecution will then file a motion in rebuttal siting law and precedent to counter the argument.

Then the Judge will decide. If it goes against the FDOTUS expect his legal team to appeal that ruling.

Ok, but this has been in front of the doj and lawyers before, and they refused to take it, if this is such an open and shut case, why would they not investigate it then?
The DOJ HAS taken it up and convicted Cohen

Keep up

Wow

Can you show the document issued by the FEC where they said "NO VIOLATION", my understanding was from reporting at the time that the FEC was deadlocked and made no determination because GOP members of the board blocked the vote so they closed the case while the Office of the FEC General Counsel after investigating the matter did recommend that violations occurred.

The vote was blocked for political reasons.

Yes, it was but they didn't refuse,
Trump's lawyer and leader of the DOJ shut everything down.

Jun 22, 2020 — He quickly saw Barr's move for exactly what it was: a raw attempt to shut down ongoing Trump-related investigations.

They did...........hence.........THE INDICTMENT.

This is what the commissioner has to say

Actually the Office of the FEC General Counsel did recommend finding violations, it was GOP members on the board that blocked further action.

Where did I say it was just voters in New York? I didn't.

There were other cases that were not dismissed. Cohen went to jail on 8 charges including Campaign Finance Violations.

This is what the commissioner has to say

The FEC COMMISSIONER isn't IN the indictment.

This is what the commissioner has to say

Expected from a Trump appointed individual.

The Office of the FEC General Counsel recommended action based on campaign violations and the GOP blocked the vote for political reasons. Trainor, being one of the Trump appointees that blocked action. Trump got his monies worth there.

Stop posting in generalities.
A misdemeanor is different from a felony. A bookkeeping error is a misdemeanor.
Its the felony, the unspecified "coverup" federal crime that is bullshit.
